Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section Anyone know whats the best laptop i could get for about €1500. Dont need a desktop replacement but something light with wireless features and a decent sized screen??? who'd be the best make to go for? any help is appreciated Thanking y'all.
I just got an Acer Aspire 1680 last week. I loooooooove this thing. My only problem with it is the battery life. Should be lasting longer than it is but still gets pretty good performance. My advice is decide the bottom line features you want and start searching based on those. My agenda was: ATi Radeon Video Centrino Fairly large screen Light Warranty is something to consider as well with notebooks, much moreso than with normal pc hardware.
By a couple hours, I have heard. depends what model you get and what not. now, I am wishing I got an apple, or at least a pentium m. rather than the p4 3.06 with HT ah well, at least my laptop (secondary computer) is faster than every one of my friends computers. not that I need that anyways. and I suppose it will prove as a nice lap warmer in the winter in calgary. I am going custom built btw, and ecs g732. I have to put in the hdd, ram, and cpu myself. and possibly the cd-rw/dvd combo and mini pci wifi/modem card. one thing to note, stay away from compaq, and emachines at all costs. HP laptops seem alright. dell I imagine would be better, as their desktops are better. also, if you get a prebuilt laptop. do yourself a favour and reload windows on it from a retail or oem cd (a real install of windows, not that bloatware stuff that many companies give you) Every compaq computer I have seen (or at least the new ones) have some ad supported software that blocks parts of the screen. the only way to get it away is to use ctrl-alt-del, and start killing processes.
I got an Acer with Centrino technology does 5 hours got a 15" screen apple cost loads but yeah there good and look nice, also with Apple there more open source software out there. Do Apple laptops boot fast like the old desktops used to?
some don't get free iBooks.. you tart. That being said... Apple lappies are the sex.. and the dog's all at once.... However, if you want a windows lappy.. Toshiba is the best way to go. ALWAYS!
yep thats true, and they have a thingy in the hdd's that detect if the laptop has been dropped and shuts the druve off to help reduce damage IBM = the w1n
IBM= Gods of laptops Dell= Demigods for those who HAVE A BUDGET! (D600 is one of the best laptops for the price at the mo)
true, hp and compaq are the same company, but they are different laptops. I haven't actually seen any new hps in here that have the same adware. there is some junk, but different stuff. very unintrusive by comparison. read that, it doesn't take up a large portion of the screen, being annoying.
Yep, go with Apple. Powerbooks are amazing (iBooks are almost as amazing ). If you have to go with Windows, I'd go with an IBM ThinkPad.
Neither did I dumbass! I got a PowerBook, mwahaha. To be fair though I got the 800quid fair and square and I had to put 300quid of me own money to afford the PowerBook.
my vote goes for IBM, just for the pwntastic build quality.... whatever u do dont buy a compaq, if i was getting a new lappy id get an IBM X31 or the 12 inch apple powerbook tho actually the new imac is so ****ing sexy id be tempted just to buy that and a ****ing big battery and carry it around
