Not a Sonos one. Nice bit of kit, but doesn't make sense for me and not inexpensive.

I have the Play:5s in places where a sub isn't entirely necessary or appropriate (Play:5s in stereo do a good job anyway even in a large space), and the Connects in hi-fi and AV setups where the Sonos sub wouldn't make sense either.

I've considered a Connect Amp in the loft (ZP120 in old money, sounds much better IMO) and a stereo-in-one ceiling speaker for a bathroom, but it seemed a little extravagant just for shower music, so binned the idea before I convinced myself it was indeed a sensible one.

Technically not a purchase as its an employee freebie...

A new BT Home Hub 3 and a BT Openreach FTTC router all connected up this morning to my new BT Employee Infinity installation (same as Option 2 - 76/19). Seems to have stabled at 74.6mb down / 17.5mb up, not too shoddy compared to my ADSL line that barely managed 1.3mb.

Did a test with steam and was getting an average of 8.4MB/sec this afternoon. Very nice!

Samsung Galaxy Nexus S to replace my old Samsung Nexus. Got it for cheap, and my sister gets my old nexus, so everyone is happy.

Do they still make that or did you find an old one somewhere?

Nope, they don't make those any more. Which is a DAMN shame. One of my friends has the old 60", speakerless screen they made along with a Bose 2.1 system. Slickest setup I have ever seen with a TV.

Got it in a silent auction from work (they replaced these with new 103" ones). Won it for £300 - with all the money going to testicular cancer charities.

    Figures...

I was on the hunt for a Kuro when I decided the time had come to get a bigass TV. No joy, ended up getting a Panasonic VT20.

Going to the liquor store to pick up a 26 of gin and than the grocery store to buy some juice. Friends 21st birthday on the 20th so we're going away from Thursday to Saturday to Blue Mountain. What can go wrong with 25 young adults and copious amounts of alcohol?

A new cambelt. I do hate spending money on such things, especially when it makes no difference to my life, other than my engine continuing to work... :p

Ah well, it needed doing and is better than it snapping and taking out my engine!

Happened to me a couple of years ago. The water pump seized, snapping the cambelt whilst I was doing 70! :waah:
Luckily, I'd only had the car 5 months (dealer warranty invoked). :thumb:
The car had a cambelt change interval of 40k but had only done 38k, so dealer invoked manufacturer warranty.

tl;dr - I put 1000 miles on a free hire car in a month (dealership was out of loaners), whilst the local main dealer installed a refurb engine block with all new internals (also free).

For my Media PC/LAN PC. GFX card was just supposed to be a 660, but they kept messing up my order and upgraded me to a 660ti for free. Obviously I chucked the card into my primary PC and took my 570 and put it into the media PC.

And all of it in a temporary case. When I have the time I want to build a case for the HTPC:
