i find both glasses and contacts intensely annoying, but laser treatment is still prohibitively expensive, though i've been told by a former colleague that when he had it moving from glasses to laser eyes was like jumping to HD. I can only assume form the comments above that he means from 1080p to 4k...

i spent about 300 quid on my last two pairs of glasses 2 years ago (and they were BOGOF), but they were so worth it. prescription aviators are a vast improvement over contacts+sunglasses.

I've had really, really bad luck with returns this month:

    Another one of these:

    Two of these:

    This:

Which then failed so I got this:

And then that failed so I just stuck the drives in my computer in software RAID.

    I then bought these:

That card failed, so I exchanged it for this:

    Profited on this:

    Got some audio bargains:

That's more failures in a month than most people would have in a decade! Are you sure that, in addition to Shirty's suggestions, you aren't installing them with a hammer?

*Hmmm - that monitor's in the wrong place... What could I do... I know! BASH*

I believe I've gone through more Monitors, however... >.>

But yeah, that's a crazy amount of hardware failures within a short period of time. At least mine are caused by somewhat overzealous love taps.

Based on the pics you've posted I'd say that was probably true...

I just bought a bunch of leather watchstraps from Crown&Buckle - this, this and this.

A three piece suit in mid-grey herringbone (MTM, I paid up front and now I wait for the delivery and first round of alterations, so no pics).

Two Mosaic ties (this and this) to go with the suit.

Repair job for my broken (snapped in half) 70-200mm f/4L IS.

I was this close to pulling the trigger on a Seiko SARB035 and Seiko black leather strap with deployant clasp, but then realised I'd spent way too much money, so dropped the idea.

    Nikon D3100 has arrived.

Awaiting some other stuff to be collected and shipped to me for review.

Will have my hands on a new Blue Microphone for a week or so soon too. (Sadly loaner sample)

Some soft-closing kitchen cupboard door hinges.
Steroids and Inhalers, just settling into a really nice cough/wheezy chest/sore throat. Retching up phlegm is not very pleasant.

    Denon AVR-3313

I was getting tired of only having a couple HDMI ports on my AV receiver, and given that Denon has just released their latest and greatest (that doesn't seem to be all that much greater than their last lineup... further bonus), the 2012 kit is available at some bargainous prices...

That's unreal, why is it the stuff you bought years ago last for years and the new stuff dies so quick? Does that even make sense

Anyway, bought a OCZ Vector 128GB and it lasted 3 weeks, it caused weird problems with windows from the day I installed it, credit to SCAN for replacing it quickly and so far the new one's been OK but I've kind of lost faith in them (OCZ Vectors) as quite a few people have had the same problem with them :sigh:
    Anyone here got one?
