I'm told by our head of music that it was tendered for by two companies - obviously one quote was lower than the other, but her husband - head of music in a secondary school - looked at both and advised that the school go with the more expensive system because it was better equipment, and wasn't that much more expensive. That advice was ignored, though, and they not only got a system built using inferior components and equipment, they got one which was installed by people who didn't know what they were doing. The stage boxes are on the wall beside the two mixer desk positions, so to change the desk from the front of the room (day to day use) to the back (concerts, events etc) you have to change over two sets of 16 XLR connections, instead of one. The left speakers are mounted out of line with the right speakers, the flight case lid for the desk doesn't fit because of the vertical XLRs coming out of it, one of the mic ports on the stage gives a low signal and I've already mentioned the amp being under the stage instead of in the rack. It's a mess! I'm going to tear into it during the summer holidays and put it right one bit at a time.

White Ford decal, I tried it with the pin stripe too, but it looked **** so I took it off.

    Wanted to get rid of the odd looking silver blob in the middle of the grille, so filled, sanded, and painted it, just today finished polishing the gloss coat and refitted it all;

I stand corrected - I pictured how most of the systems were done at our schools; a pile of outdated junk thrown together by a maintenance guy or a teacher after hours.

Service & 2 new tyres for my Insignia SRi.

While it was on the ramp, I took a test drive of a VW Up! and came THIS* close to pulling the trigger on one.

And lastly, a never ending pencil. Screw you physics. This thing feels as awesome as it looks in the hand.

As a shoe whore myself, I approve very much. I've been tempted to get nearly the same in boot format for a bit.

You Brits do shoes like nobody else's business. :thumb:

If I can swing a trip to London/Manchester later this year, I'm gonna blow a grand on shoes and shoecare products, nothing else.

By "never ending" they mean, "We couldn't be arsed testing how long it would last, so we will do the Italian thing and say it never ends, prago."

Looks nice though, does it write nicely? i.e. like a proper pencil?

Thanks. :D If you come to Manchester, I am DEFINITELY paying you a visit! :thumb:

Ha, I know the whole Italian mindset quite well! :D

It writes nicely but because of the alloys not transferring to paper as easily as graphite, a little more pressure is required but you get used it.

I'd say what's the point, but since this is Bit-tech... How do you keep the thing sharp?

A pair of these should be winging their way to me from Deutschland in a week :)

Oh and I got new (used) 2U rack case for my rack! Going to pop my server into it after I figure out what kind of PSU should I get, that fits without using too much :dremel:.

The previous owner painted the chassis, looks pretty cool actually :p

And I've been told that those are seriously LOUD! So I'll propably just try them on the server for the giggles, before I throw a little bit more silent powersupply in there. The case fans will also be changed to little bit less noisy models. (Also the rails on the case are pretty nice, as now I can use the server to extend the surface area of my table if needed! Brilliant!)

And of course we have six hot swappable HDD-cages. Just not going to buy six 2-4TB HDDs now as they are still pretty darn espensive, unless I win on lottery or something like that. But I'll get the HDDs sooner or later.
