That's just about the last thing I'd be worried about when buying a lens

Besides which, most of the second hand Tokinas I've watched on the bay end up going to within 10% of the price of a new one, if not beyond.

Re-sale value isn't something that concerns me too much, I'd just prefer better quality lenses for the price- the Canon I bought costs about the same as the Tokina, yet gives me a larger focal range ( a good & bad thing for obvious enough reasons to any photographer.. ), and is better quality ultimately. I can live with distortion when going from wide to long on one lens- I kinda enjoy the character it gives a picture vs needing 2 or 3 primes to cover the same focal range with less distortion...

Which is another thing- good primes are bloody expensive and having to change lenses constantly is way more hassle than it's worth for my needs, won't be buying too many of those really...

About that big. The diorama is four feet tall, so it's intended to engender a sense of wonder when it's finished. Descent into a lost world-no fighting at all. Wanted to do something completely different while I'm seeing if my kidneys will recover this time.

Well after the PCIE sound card that didn't fit I have freed up space for a PCI sound card.

So I bought myself this for £39 off of Fleabay a moment ago.

It's in absolutely mint condition with all of the bits.

    I have a X-Fi Champion.

It's not bad, the front audio thing is nice.

I loved the demo (well, one of the tunes was great. The other, meh) - is there enough there to keep one entertained for quite some time?

After a lot of research it seems that their latest cards are no different to the PCI ones. The Fatal1ty pro FPS (which is what I've got) has a 64mb buffer or Xram or whatever it's called.

Can't say I'm best pleased about the ribbon cable or the fact it needs a floppy power connector but I'm sure with a bit of Dinoc I can make the ribbon look at least acceptable.

I'm really looking forward to it because I've got a true 7.1 set of headphones (Earforce HPA2). They need new pads but I've got them ordered.. Looking forward to playing creepy games :)

Sound cards really haven't changed much. Especially from Creative.

    Just this:

And yes, that is an embarrassing picture of me. My mate mentioned that I'd suck as a car model, and that my duckface is lacking heart... I think he's right.

Possibly... once she's run in properly... So far my impressions are nothing but positive... that thing grips in corners... you really do need to be quite hamfisted with it to make it misbehave (and for the record: traction control has not been disabled yet, though it only intervened a wee bit once in a straight line)

Let me guess? Tengaku? Well you got 38 tracks with 4 difficulties, **** tonnes of outfits and stuff to unlock, game mods, an editor that could put premiere to shame. There's some freaky Japanese **** thats sneaked in there is well like being able to pet the vocaloids as well as give them gifts but thankfully that's not part of the game and can be ignored.

There is a track on nyan cat as well for giggles

    Fav tracks so far:
    Cat food
    Time machine
    Urbandonment
    Glasses
    Tengaku

And some others I can't remember the name of

You might be able to help me out here. In terms of off-angle viewing (horizontal), does the picture go all weird with colours inverting etc past ~45°, or does it just start to wash out?

I think perhaps this should be the new rule for the "what do you drive" thread.

    The half-hearted Duckface?

I tend to agree, though we'd probably see way less car pr0n then.

I have one from a couple of generations earlier and it just washes out rather than going completely freaky.
