That's great and all but I was looking at the N56U for £65 so I'd already jumped up a step. :D

Hahaha, been there! The N66U should serve you well, it's still an excellent router and one which I've installed and set up for a couple of people in the past. Are you going to run it with the factory supplied ASUS software or do you have any plans to install a third party firmware in the future?

I'll put the superhub into modem mode and run the Asus as is for now. I've not got much to connect to it. 4 x desktop PCs, 2 tablets, 3 phones, 1 TV and a CCTV system.

The ASUS firmware is more than capable of handling that, if the added features of third party versions aren't attractive it is a very good interface. Very user friendly as well, I've even been able to talk networking novice owners through changing the setup after changing ISP!

Detailing splurge in preparation for winter prep and maintenance. Again

I'm giving up on detailing completely if I don't have her properly prepped for winter this year. It was a complete mess by spring earlier this year because I didn't get it done properly last time :(

    It's arrived!

Not one but two free USB wireless adaptors. Thanks OcUK.

Are the boxes big enough for those nano-adaptors? :jawdrop:

It's been an expensive couple of weeks for me:

    i5 4690k

    New Gigabyte mobo

A low end Celeron to update the boards BIOS

    A Parvum case

    And a OnePlus One phone

I have to say, that does seem rather odd and over the top to put something so small into a box that could essentially fit a something like a discreet GPU.

Though saying that, once you take out all the inner packaging and the device you have some nice sized boxes for storing small PC bits.

I just read somewhere that this case gives a nasty bend to the motherboard. Might want to check that out somewhere.

Can't argue with that! Agreed about the boxes though, that's ridiculously environmentally unfriendly from ASUS!

I can't see a bend in my board in one of those, but now I am paranoid...

There you go. I don't have the case so I didn't bother really going through it, but just by the topic and the pictures I'm guessing something's not quite right.

I've just had a look at the pictures and can't really see why the board is bending, Although it isn't anywhere near as bad as the bend my old Thermalright heatsink used to cause.

I'll just have to wait and see :sigh:

AFAIK the PCI-slots are kinda too short, so if you tighten the screw properly, it pushes the card against the mobo. So if you just leave the screw loose or put a washer between the card and the case then it should be fine.

I agree I've seen worse bends over the years, but IMO that just isn't something that you should accept from a case! It's obviously a mistake.

I've seen some pretty epic bends from CPU coolers, both water blocks and heatsinks! Having said that, I've never seen the board bending due to a fault with the case. That PCI slot sizing issue that Jipa is talking about is something you sometimes see on terribly made cheap cases (sub £40 things) from unknown manufacturers. It's certainly not something I would expect to see from Corsair!

Just picked up a boxed used Asus Maximus Impact VI.
Was wondering about a Gene V or other modern ITX board, but this was local and well priced.
Just need a CPU to get up & running...

Unless the mobo standoffs are a smidge too long. That would do it too.:dremel:

Good job I had to remove the end of my 7990 to fit in the 250D, couldn't screw it down if I wanted to.
