Pentacon made some really under-rated lenses back in the day. I have this:

Pentacon 135mm f2.8. On any of my MFT cameras its about a 270mm f4 or thereabouts. Mounted on my GM1 like above, and its an awesome, compact, sniper rig. I love it. Downside is though its not amazingly contrasty, but I correct in LR for that anyway.

I think it cost £25 a year ago.

    Rollei Planar 50mm 1.8 (AKA Voigtlander Color-Ultron) on a Rolleiflex SL35

After a bit of cleaning and some lubrication (you would not believe how much sand was in the helicoid of this lens...) it works beautifully again.
Though I've only had it for a few days this is quickly becoming my favorite normal lens (well, short tele on crop sensor to be correct). The rendering is just extraordinary.

It's certainly something a little different from Dell/HP's etc offerings. In my opinion this should last longer, and be easier and cheaper to maintain and service over the years too.

The Start Tech Hot Swap bay's deserve a special mention just for the excellent build quality and ease of installation.

Are there any more consumer-focused rackmount cases? I would need it to be enclosed on 4 sides (I could buy a rack I guess, or build a super awesome desk).

Since we are all posting our latest vintage lenses... :p

It's the 1:1 Macro adapter for a Minolta 100mm F4 macro lens I bought last december. The lens itself was a steal because of a dented filter ring but was still functioning perfectly.

With the 1:1 adapter I can get insane detail. (FYI 1:1 means that 1cm translates to 1cm on the sensor itself. Meaning that a Full Frame sensor can be filled with a 36x24mm area and still be sharp.)

    Anyway:

What do you plug your Minolta glass into JaccoW? Other than the 50mm f1.4 that's probably my favourite lens... maybe the 24-50mm f4...

Just a good old Sony Nex-5... yep, the first generation one from 2010. With the right lenses it still performs great. :thumb:

I need to get my hands on the 50mm F1.4 Rokkor-X some day and then decide what I want to do with some of the older M42 lenses I have. The bayonet mount of the Minoltas still work great.
Don't discount the 135mm F2.8. That one is still one of the sharpest lenses I own.

The old-version (now retired) Leatherman Juice S2. I prefer the plain scales to the 2014 model's sculpted scales, y'see. It's to be my daily carry, as my (much, *much* nicer) Leatherman Charge Ti has locking blades and therefore doesn't get an automatic pass from S.139. Pretty impressed with it so far: the high-carbon blade takes a nice edge, and the slipjoint 'lock' holds it in place reasonably well given it's a non-locking tool. The pliers seem a little stiff, though, and the flat-blade screwdrivers can be a bit of a swine to get out.

Getting ready for softball season. 200 for the team, jerseys, etc.
12 bucks for these high socks (the blue ones on the bottom, store didn't have the navy).

Jerseys will be a royal blue (slightly darker than the Toronto Blue Jays blue) with some grey and white in them. Logo is as seen here! It's going to be in white on the blue jerseys.
