I do tend to give people approaching from behind the laser stare these days. Given how well the old car stood up to a heavy impact, I was always going to get another VAG car, but I've been looking mainly at Golfs until this morning.

 

That is a nice looking motor! Petrol or diesel?

 

2.0 TDI Auto

 

Don't laugh but my dream car is an Audi TT mk1. One day it will be mine

 

Skoda vRS. None of the cost, all of the fun.

 

I've never driven a TT, but I've heard they're pretty good.

I've seen my mate embarrass a few Audi / BMW fanboys in his VRS. It's a 200bhp Petrol, and it goes like stink. I'm not a good passenger, so I don't like sitting next to him when he feels the need for speed.

 

Nice ambition to have.
Mk1 TT is a memorable drive for me; I had a go on a track day 15 years ago and was shocked that 4WD isn't invincible
It was wet and I was pushing it.
I lost it into a slide, and over compensated and spun the damn thing and collected up a road cone underneath...not very edifying.

The Lotus Elise that I also drove that day was equally memorable; it's the only car that I have driven that I felt I was wearing - like a comfortable backpack.
Wouldn't mine one of those one day.

i do, been down the m1 at 140mph from J29 all the way to London in about 2 hours. used £110 in petrol.
Was in a Scuby STI racing another scuby. (before anyone moans, it wasn't me driving, i was just enjoying the ride)

 

And people might let you out of side crossings in it (same can't be said of the A3 )

 

Hey now, that's not true. Just the other day I let a gorgeous white Audi out in front of me just so I could ogle its gorgeous rear end for a few minutes

Checked the dash cam footage this afternoon, it was a 2 door 2008 A5 2.7 Sport Tdi. De-badged but there's HPI checks to get around that





Extremely sharp looking machine for over 6 years old! Hard to see from the high angle of my dash cam but the one I spotted has been widened in the rear end with updated wide wheels and tyres which gave it a gorgeous stance.

 

Bit of a kit overhaul:

Scheppach SD1600F 240V Variable Speed Scroll Saw (not the highest end piece of kit, but I thought it better to test the water to see how much I use it before jumping on a better one)

We had an impromptu employee discount tonight so I bought some jackets that I really wanted for quite some time:

Peak Performance Aneto jacket
A stretchy lightweight softshell.

And the real gem of the evening was this bad boy:

The Heli Ghost jacket, a limited edition of the Heli Alpine jacket in all black.
It's a 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro-Shell with all kinds of fancy stuff for freeskiing. But I will be using it In the city.

Best part of it all?
I spent less than €300 for both of them.

It's that time again:


Cobalt drill bit set, 19pc ( 1-10mm, in 0.5mm steps ). Replacing my craptastic market-stall 'rainbow' drill bits


120 grit sanding belt for my belt sander- the supplied course belt ( 40 grit ) is a bit viscious for doing anything that needs lighter sanding...


Clampy things, so I can hang my LED light panels from a cross bar above my photography bench. That's another project completed. Probably...


Room on the knife-sharpening bandwagon for one more? I do need to sharpen my kitchen knives, and my 20+ year old lock knife, and my hunting knife/letter opener...


6" vice for my new pillar drill.


10mm bolts, washers & wing nuts, to mount the above.


Nerf Hammershot, for shooting my nephew. Will go nicely with my Alpha Trooper as a back-up.


O-rings, to replace the broken one my airrifle magazine.


Alphamon! Woohoo, been waiting ages for him to be released. Now the butt-plugs have only gone and announced a Paladin mode Imperialdramon, got to wait ~4 months for him too, then I think that'll be my Digimon figurine collection complete.





The art of Sparth 1, 2 & 3, graphic design-type books. I'm addicted, just as well it's much cheaper than coke I guess...

That is this weekend & next weekend sorted, just need to decide on the doors then I'll be hanging 9 Oak doors lol oh the joys of DIY.

I have driven many of these when a car valeter. I found them all look and no substance and so cramped inside. But overall I am rather keen on an Audi behind a BMW and also behind the Jaguars particularly the Sovereign old I know but such a pleasure to drive.
