    Short answer: you can.

    A Nikon P600 for the wife's birthday.
It should arrive any day now.

I wanted to go for a cheap DSLR, but since it's the wife's birthday present and she prefers bridge-cams, she gets a bridge camera

Hehe, but seriously I was just curious about what civilians do with them. I do get they are more durable though.

There just better in every way really. I personally love tactical kit, i got all sorts of bits, kind of collect it.

I do have a use for this stuff outside of just casual use but i try to keep politics and my personal life out of bit-tech. Other than that i do consider my self an moderate level survivalist. currently trying to learn UK wild foraging and so on.

Plus nobody is going to take you seriously as a mall ninja without some proper tacticool kit. That's why anything 'non civilian' that I buy has to be black on black.

Oh wow, it's glorious! I definitely need one of these in my arsenal sometime in the not too distant future. For a similar purpose, too. It's become so hard to get good, well made bespoke flight cases in this country that I'm going to start building my own. I've only performed repairs and modifications so far, but one of these would be fantastic to have when I do start building them from scratch.

Nothing particularly exciting or exotic, OEM fit P Zero Run Flats in 245/45/19 and 275/40/19, to be precise.

Delightfully around £300 cheaper than the last time I was shopping, just as well I opted to stretch another few thousand miles out of them.

Decided I could use something else on the DIY front so picked up a jigsaw: Makita DJV182 - Goes with the other cordless gear.

Having spent a few weekends on a few projects I can safely say I'm very happy with my Makita purchases so far, wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone else :dremel::clap:

The jigsaw is going to be my next purchase, I already have a DHP458 Drill, DTD146 Driver and the DBO180Z ROS and love them! have you tried any of the double battery 36v stuff? I had a go with the chainsaw and found it surprisingly good tbh.

I really want to get the circular saw as it's the tool I use the most, but just can't bring myself to sell the Mafell one I currently have.

Yeah I got the 36v circular and it's a great bit of kit. Used it for all the framing and decking at the girlfriends house and it purrs through everything I've cut so far. Battery last for every too on two 4ah's

Ooh new helmet, think I need a new one soon as I dread to think what state mine is in having been left in Dad's shed!

To go along with few others bits I got recently...

Bosch Jigsaw blade set - 2x T308B Straight and 1x T308BO Scroll Clean Cut blades. Bosch always seem to be high on peoples recommendation list for jigsaw blades. My saw came with 6 Makita blades too which I wasn't expecting so should keep me cutting for a while

Wera Impaktor bit holder - I've got another one (cant remember brand) but the end of it is huge so not ideal for small gaps so went for this one as its replacement.

Smart-Bit Depth Setter - Gonna use this on the decking project to get all the screws into the same depth (satisfies the perfectionist part of brain lol)

Also got a new other bits and pieces this past week:

Pair of Fred Perry slip on net front shoes for summer chilling
    Grey comfy shorts
bag of 4pin fan headers and 4pin connectors so I can sort my PWM fan wiring out!

It is how laptops should be. Fantastic build quality, beautiful screen, insanely fast, 12 hour battery life, excellent keybard.
