I prefer the Staedtler 925 series, Rotrings have a grip texture that can best be described aggressive (good for removing calluses). Although I also have a 600 and a 2mm pro, I just use the 925-05 and 925-20s that I have a lot more.

Yeah, the knurling is a little sharp, however for the use I will be getting out of it (note taking and occasional marking up of CAD-produced drawings), things should be fine.

Having said that, I am going to be holding off buying any more until I have had a good play with this one just to check that I'm all OK with it. So far so good though, it's great to be using a decent pencil with some weight to it.

Got a spare battery for it too. Took 150 photo's with it using 40% battery in that time, Felt i would need a bit more charge for my holiday.

A little bit for product reviews, a lot for taking thermal shots of things just 'cos I can!
I feel certain that this already exists, and if not it should.

Of course it does, get the right camera and you can 'see' right through flimsy hotel room walls...

    I'm assuming...

You know those moments where, in hindsight, it's best to keep your thoughts to yourself?

Yeah, that was one of them. :p

I'm waiting for the 2nd Gen Flir One for Android to be released and be reviewed [Apple lightning version also available] at £200 and supposedly higher res.
The MSX cameras look pretty clever as they take a low res thermal and mix it with the edge outlines from a visible light image taken at the same time.

Will be interested to see how the C2 works out - I've wanted a thermal imager for 30 years (no specific need, just WANT!)

...Now that you've said that, you realise that I'm going to have to try that out, right? (Don't worry, I won't post the cock-shot. Interested parties can PayPal £5 to my usual address, though...)
I'm exactly the same - hence jumping at the chance now I've got a bit of spare leisure money!

I did have a look at cheaper things before taking the plunge, though. There's a Chinese gun-style thermal camera which knocks off the MSX feature for £200, but that'd be £250 once VAT and so forth is taken care of - and you can forget about warranty. The image quality looked low, too: massive gap between the visual and thermal portions of the image, whereas the proper MSX blending is much closer. I also thought about the smartphone-operated stuff like Flir One and Seek Thermal, but my Android phone doesn't do USB OTG so they don't work. (That said, it would have been cheaper to buy a Flir One and a second-hand iPhone or iPod Touch than to buy the Flir C2, which is a little crazy!)

Hopefully it'll retain its value well, so if I get bored of it I can get most of the cash back.

    So much good stuff!
Nice backplate Glenn, looks like they did you proud.

Gareth, do keep us posted with your thermal pics - NSFW and otherwise
I see that the iphone Flir One Mk2 is now listed as available, but the android is still pre order.
Thermal phone gizmo or smaller travel camera? Have to think that one through carefully.

Sam, nice flower shot with the Alpha 6000. Funny, I was looking at NEX 6 and 6000 options earlier...
I bought a NEX 5 with 18-55 on the MP, which has been fun, and the body's smaller than I'd imagined, but the lens is still bulky.
Looking at holiday camera options smaller than my D7000, and wondered about a NEX with a v/f; the screen only is a bit limiting in bright light when I've been used to SLRs for ever.
I wondered about a NEX with single lens like a short 16 or 20, or even a Sigma 30mm which has good write ups.
I was shown a 32mm Touit for NEX last week; very nice. BUT, when I was passed the £3,200 85mm Otus, that was something else!! So BIG, and lot a cash for a single lens, esp as I don't do any paying photography.

Boot times? Shmoot times. And BF3 doesn't load any more - it just magically appears. It's only hooked up to my mobo's old sata 2 doo-daa too.

What will they think of next?
