A Steinheil M30A oscillograph for €20. (the taped on paper is a quick makeshift ground glass for fun)

Reason 1 I picked this up: I saw it had a very expensive Linhof Super-Rollex 6x6 120 film back (for 4x5 cameras) in the pictures of the listing.
Reason the second: It contained a beautiful Steinheil Oscillo-Quinon 56mm f/1.9 and a Prontor shutter in impeccable condition.

If those specs look too good to be true: they are! A true ~15mm equivalent large format lens with such a huge aperture would be insane. The catch with this one is that it only covers 4x5 at 1:1 enlargement (since it was made specifically for this purpose), and just a bit more than full frame at infinity. Not a problem for me though, since I'll mainly be using it on APS-C as a high speed macro lens.
A quick first test pic (unedited, wide-open, hand-held in front of the camera). I'm impressed. :)

Wow, that's some serious traditional photo kit :D.
Never come across that lens before, or that particular specialist recording kit. The lens in Prontor reminds me of the 38mm Biogon that I bought for £50 that had been stripped from an aerial camera. I had it re mounted in a Prontor Press shutter, but sold it rather than putting it on a camera. Its coverage was limited, and I already had one on my beloved Hasselblad SWC/M ;).

A Biogon 38/4.5 for £50? Holy wow. I've been pretty happy with what I've paid for all of my photography stuff so far but that's a deal on a whole other level! :jawdrop:

I'm actually genuinely surprised, it's looking like it's set for arrival tomorrow from DABS. I was expecting it next week. This is a very good thing as I have rendering to do for work before Monday and a lot of editing of videos to do as well for presentations that we're doing soon. Currently can't do any of that at the moment as the 290 just crashes the machine.
