Yeah i was really hoping to see them at Bloodstock, unforutnatly money issues and my Social Anxiety being out of control really put an end to those plans quite quickly

    Evidently not my photo...

On offer in a local Aldi at £70 and it's bloody lovely. Not to replace my current "office" chair, it'll replace the old armchair in my office.

EDIT: Oh yeah, nearly forgot! This also:

It's basically a hand-held megadrive. Looks like someone's built an ASIC which is effectively a hardware megadrive emulator; comes loaded with 20 games, but you can insert an SD card loaded with ROMS also.

It got my hacker senses tingling: I've wanted to make a portable MAME system based on a Raspberry Pi for a long time and this thing looks ideal to gut - assuming I can actually bring myself to tear it apart and gut it, because it's not a half-bad little unit.

Its a real throwback, seems to be behaving itself too which for a DFI is curious

I've posted here before about my grandparents wonderful Olympus 35-SP, but today my grandmother told me she had another camera lying around that I could have. It was a very pretty, barely used Polaroid SX-70 with the (now rather rare) accessory kit, which was apparently a company gift from when my grandfather worked at IBM.

I'm not all that fond of the lo-fi instant film look, but I'd love to try the camera out. The current prices for a film pack (Impossible Project) are pure theft though, at €25 delivered (that's 8 pictures! How do all those hipsters afford this stuff?).

Spent $300 on used kitchen cabinets and a sink for my new place.

Friend of mind has a rec room he no longer uses and we're converting it into an apartment which I will rent from him. So far I've bought a ginormous bathtub and we're building out from there. Literally, the whole rest of the space is defined by the bathtub. Cabinets and stove are next, and once those get figured out we can start putting up walls and tiling the floor (and walls). Going to do the whole thing in steampunk.

    Build log coming...

They were very good at Bloodstock.

They did film their full set at Waken which will be on a live DVD soon and is song for song the same as Bloodstock.

Because hipsters use them as a display piece to pick up hipster girls, of course.
