    Look at the shiny, shiny!

So far I am over the moon with it. Plus it makes my fellow geeks in the IT team well jealous (especially with the Pip Boy face)

    Hi,

If you want a good tip, believe me if there is one mentor you want as a resource, if there is one bookmark you have, its to sign up for this women for a month,

This women is so good, after I cancelled my membership I would just randomly send her a few pounds now and then to say thank you and to thank her for just being available for piano learners.

    https://www.youtube.com/user/pianocareer

she runs a members only site, if you can sign up for a month, save down your you tube videos etc.

She is 12 out of 10, her elegance, her passion for teaching.

Honestly the best thing to do to understand just how good she is, is to set side an hour on Sunday and watch some of her free videos (many and great).

If I could stop working for a year and study piano, she would be my mentor.

She must have hundreds of hours of training, and every sentence out of her mouth is pure gold dust. Watch and you will see,

No joke, book mark this women. she is a proper Russian school of piano teaching, her dynamic range and play is some thing special.

    Edit: This is her

Just been smacked in the face by the current value (or lack thereof) of the GBP.

3 Nights away this week in Kuwait and Dubai have worked out pant-droppingly expensive now they've appeared on my card. Call from expenses team in 3... 2... 1...

Does this mean you will be becoming familiar with youth hostels in future?

    Definitely not.

It means I'll be kindly inviting the back-office admin person who has never travelled in their life to spend some time in a Kuwaiti youth hostel and until then to go away. They might get upset and mail something quoting rate caps to my boss, and my boss will tell them the same thing. So it's all good.

Yeah it's absurd. I get some income in the US and bringing it home right now is a laugh a minute. But I'm chilling in Belgium right now so it comes right back and hits me in the face when I buy euros.

I just bought my first little coffee (espresso) machine. I won't mention the make and model because it may offend any aficionados reading this :D but since it was cheap and seems to have a decent pressure pump and by all accounts can knock out a decent espresso, I thought I'd go for it. My old overworked moka pot deserves a rest. :)

I've just been to collect it. It was listed on a local classifieds website as "very clean, only used once" and sure enough, it's spotless. The chap was selling it on behalf of his father who, preferring instant-in-a-cup coffee, just doesn't like the espresso-based coffee drinks so the machine has hardly seen any use at all. Fantastic.

I'll give it a clean and fire it up later. If it's any good and I'm able to get something half-decent from it I might even tell you what it is. :D

    Edit:

    Oh man this tastes good.

Krups XP4020 (don't read the reviews, lol), immaculate but missing 2 of the 3 portafiler insert cup sizes (it only came with the 1 cup insert), £20. :thumb: That's less than my moka pot cost.

I've been debating going aftermarket for a steering wheel in the Yaris. With mine being the T Sport it has the sport seat option which are far more substantial than the regular jobbies. This means that I am now sitting higher than I did in my previous SRs (which fit me very well). I have a long body and short legs and these seats sit me at a position where I am having to almost reach for the steering wheel.

Nice seats but, as you can see, the driving position is not the best, the steering wheel is a bit on the low side.

Whilst the standard wheel can tilt up and down, there is no way to move it closer which would be a huge help. An aftermarket deep dish wheel would be a lot more comfortable.

The only downside would be losing part of the airbag system, the same reason why I would rather not replace the seats with lower ones (side bags in the seats).

Hm. AFAIK, you're kinda stuffed. Unless you can design and have made (expensive..) an extension for the factory wheel ala spacing kits for after market wheels.

I opted to take the risk, under the guise that people survived without airbags years ago! I'm pretty sure it disables the rest of the airbags, though. Not that there's many in the RS anyway.

Are airbags a legal requirement? Or is it just a case of "it's your own fault if something bad happens to you?" Does that apply to only the driver or to passengers too?
