Well I've had them on for a few hours and they're not warming up at all. They seem pretty simple inside, but I can't tell what's under the plastic. Might pull the spare one apart to see what the guts look like. Supposedly they are rated for 250VAC @ 2A and they are CE marked... but you never can tell.

There are white bulbs which allow you to change the colour temperature, and I suspect they'd be quite handy. I've not used them though; is there possibly any other way to change colour temp automatically besides the official app?

Spending a lot of money is fun:

Almost 50 quid in shipping is no fun, though.

Also ordered more books and comics.

I'm running H4 Night Breaker Unlimiteds in my little Yaris and they have been awesome. I was going to go the LED route and just got these as I urgently needed something better than the horrible OEM ones that were of dubious age.

I'm now thinking that I might stick with them...

    Horizon 202 ultrawide panorama camera
I felt inspired by Jeff Bridges' (yes, the Dude) awesome panorama pictures of movie sets, but a real Widelux like he uses would be far too expensive.

SR44 to PX625 battery adapter (with voltage adjustment) from pratedthai
For cameras where installing a diode in the circuit would be too difficult/risky.

I had actually totally forgotten how convoluted and expensive building a bike from absolutely nothing and all separate parts was. Still, another thing off the bucket list :)

Brake levers were oucho expensive but I know I would have kicked myself pretty hard had I got something cheaper.

Having used the airline belt sander a lot at one of the garages I work at, decided I had to get one for myself at home.

Course, I've just about finished making the wooden dashboard panel for my Scimitar now, after spending hours with files and sandpaper, :D

Silverline 260W Belt sander. Get it on amazon for £29. Seems to have plenty of good 4-5 star reviews, probably not man enough for griding bolt heads off like the airline ones, but should be fine for the wood and fibreglass work I'll need it for.

I had the H4 Nightbreakers in my old Gen 5 Celica and they were fantastic in that and since I'm having to remove the bumper and headlamps to change the Xenon bulbs, I thought I might as well change the high beam bulbs at the same time.

yer, they'll be my choice for any expansion on my network.

The closest I've found is someone who uses ittt (I think) to turn the bulbs on, swap the colour, then off.

I found a forum thread in which someone said there is just no API for changing the colour while the bulb is "off".

I use the dimmer switches in some rooms which let you cycle through a few options by pressing the on button (warm, dim warm, white, really white), the first press turns the light on to the sate it was when you turned it off.

After my unpleasant recent experience with ebuyer and their shoddy tactics, I've gone to Scan for an X99A Gaming 7. A considerable step up from the Raider but not braking the bank at £237, and it has an LED debug readout.

You and I are going to have to agree to disagree on what constitutes "breaking the bank" when buying motherboards :hehe:

Got myself a Dell U2917w from Scan, nearly £90 cheaper than going direct to Dell :eeek:
