Well, I bought a dragonfly and cable as a birthday gift for my girlfriend and she absolutely loves the sound from here Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Which can actually play FLAC out of the box.

I went with the Cowon C2 years ago, added a Fiio E11 after a while, and lived very happily with the setup until higher resolution FLAC became more widely available and the little one that could just couldn't anymore. So I took some money (quite a lot tbh) and threw it in the general direction of my local brick-and-mortar hi-fi store and left with an AK300, a dock for it and XLR cables to connect the dock to my amp at home, absolute bliss. I highly doubt I could get better sound than that without spending north of 3k for a new DAC or at least the same for new speakers. And on the go, there just is no comparison to my old setup and, even though it was mind-numbingly expensive, I consider it to be worth every penny.

I doubt that I'll ever go back to using my phone for music on the go unless they can put the same hardware I have in the AK into a phone. But then the phone makers would charge upwards of 1.5k [$/€/ £] for the phone, I guess.

As for what liratheal said: you just stop thinking about it at some point lest it would drive you mad.

They appear to have shipped Dawn of War III with my thunderhammer.

Or, to look at it another way, I bought the collectors edition of Dawn of War III

Astell & Kern? They come with a form to declare bankruptcy on the back of the manual, I'll stick with my "cheap" Onkyo.

One of these fine days I'll dig out my doodlings and thoughts on a full scale thunder hammer. One of those things I always 'meant' to do and never got around to.

    BRING COMFORTABLE SHOES!

I went a few years ago with James from ZiiP when he was still running the Gamestore and we clocked up about 20Km daily just walking around after our meetings every morning.

A 32 litre water tank, some adaptors, and a short length of hose.

Which should give me a shade over 5 minutes with my K2. I bet I need to refill it, but that's not the end of the world.

I don't trust an indoor tap-hose adaptor because the tap/sink was installed by the landlord, and I don't have faith in his DIY skills - But I really want to not have to properly wash/polish my RS every other week.
