In the context of @adidan's post, I rather think so. What are all the B-T grammar pedants going to do now?

I'm sure we, I mean they, will think of something.

    Speaking of pedantry...

What function does the pendant add to the stick that the stick cannot perform on its own?

Pendants usually dangle from a chain so, perhaps it's a dangly stick? At least I hope it's just a stick dangling.:worried:

Because I still buy physical media* and, well, Jinjer....

Also trying my first Wolfheart album after listening to more of their stuff on Youtube.

Macro is just... yep, odd to listen to it again!

Also picked up the limited edition of Insomnium Heart Like a Grave. Incredible album tbh.

*I use Spotify as well but generally buy what I really like separately.

I've heard of latex but never tried, and would not want to migrate at this late stage.
I know that it is good for math, but is it better for general document output?

It's *fantastic* for general document output. There's a learning curve, make no mistake, but it's infinitely more powerful and flexible than a WYSIWYG editor.

In university I knew a fellow who had automated his resume using latex and a make script. He could trailer his resume to included different skills and work experience for the job he was applying to just by adjusting the make parameters. The same university used to advise (approximately 2 decades ago) graduate students to avoid using MS Word for journals submissions and their thesis. LaTeX was the recommended alternative to MS Word.

    It's also more secure.

Years ago, a friend of mine used to work for MS UK.
He told me that the first phase of filtering job applications was to look at the metadata embedded into resumes submitted as Word files, to see which applicants were using pirated copies of Word.

I agree, I consider sending a word document as unprofessional.

My default format is PDF for CV, I had one company moan it wasn't ideal as they didn't have a PDF viewer. Somewhat baffled by that, needless to say I didn't go for the job.

Yeah there is a bit of a learning curve with latex, and I actually moved from latex to org-mode + latex snippets for my thesis submission haha, but I've never heard anyone recommend word for a big document.

Depending how 'rich' the document is, the main focus should be text, and so word is just way overkill/bad for that.

I like some of the functions of word, intergration with referencing software, macros, heading levels and table of contents. Table of figures with the use of citations.
This may all be available through latex but I would need to learn everything over again.

A pack of new power adapters arrived so I was able to connect this today. I had do disconnect my virgin box as my TV only has 2x HDMI ports but I never watch the thing anyways.

The main advantage is that it frees my computer from playing kids content on the TV and lets my wife access more Chinese content.

I should probably find a narrow table to hold the speakers and hide the wires. The problem is that I want to upgrade to a 55" (from 42") first and the speakers are taller than I expected.

I've read that one of Hawaii's many creation myths says that the Universe is made of the leftovers from a previous existance. The only creatures to survive from that previous Universe were... octopi. Maybe Lovecraft was actually onto something!
