Unfortunately not, it's a limitation of the adaptor rather than the Mac itself. It's because these dongles are often only USB Type-C spec rather than Thunderbolt - there's much less bandwidth on Type-C, so can't drive a high res display at 60Hz. Your Mac will probably support whatever display you care to connect it to at full refresh rate - if you have an appropriate adaptor ;)

I went round this merry-go-round myself a while back and it's frustrating... If your Mac has more than just two ports though it should be a lot easier; like I mentioned, Thunderbolt Type-C to DisplayPort cables are quite cheap if you need to connect a 4K (or higher) screen. The Mac I had for work only had two Type-C ports and they had to do keyboard, mouse, ethernet, 4K display, and power - total PITA!

A Wowstick 1F+ (which, when on the base, looks suspiciously like a much more adult toy).
Mainly because I needed a Y1 screwdriver, which I could only source locally as part of toolkits that cost much more than this, and were much less comprehensive.

Fat Music for Fat People volumes 1-7 and Mild In The Streets because I'm a dingbat and added the wrong thing to the cart, having meant to add Vol 8. But now can't be bothered to do anything about it.

    • Herman Miller Celle chair (refurbished)
    • Logitach Z533 speakers
    • TP-Link Kasa smart bulb
All are fantastic and I hightly reccomend!

A "Dual Pole Mains Isolator" to go in at the same time as my upcoming "free" smart meter installation.
My electricity supplier (E.on) want £98 to fit it, but that goes onto my next bill, which is currently £300 in credit, so *shrug*.

This is necessary, as the people contracted to install my electric car charger refuse to darken my doorstep unless I have it.

Well here it is. Coffee now inside my body. I have massive issues with my sleep pattern and sleep when my brain allows me to. So last night I took my sleep tablets at 11pm and was still awake at 5. By that time they've worn off, so I can't stay asleep. I also knew the block was there because RM carded me yesterday. Any way, I woke at 11, put the coffee on and popped down to the post office as you can see.

It came with the thumb nuts and springs but there's a 90% chance I won't use those. I will likely get my buddy to machine me something that bolts it straight down with no springs. I kinda like the idea of not having any thumb nuts and it being nice and streamlined.

FAO Jeff Hine. I promised I'd do this. For £35 you are not beating it. Honestly, spend three times that much if it makes you feel good but I can promise you you would be wasting your cash. This thing is lovely, made up of three layers. It weighs a ton too. Apparently the mounting thumb nuts and springs are rubbish, but I am going to get my pal to make me some new ones.
