There was only one for sale - seriously this fan is like the Holy Grail. You can get the 24V and 48V versions reasonably cheap (like, £40 each) which I will probably do if I want to buy multiples. If you want it new, prepare to stump up around £100 for one fan.

    Group buy anyone?

I wonder if the 24v version would run off 19v. It could have a separate feed from a spilt PSU.

Yup it would - operating range for their 24V fans is 16.8 - 27.6. I got a Mean Well 24V supply because I knew I'd eventually get some 24V fans for sh*ts and gigglez, and I want a clean and properly regulated voltage. I'll probably make a thread for this stuff so this one doesn't get derailed...!

This forum has more than 20 glorious years of threads getting derailed and going wildly off topic, so why worry now?

A Ryzen 1600AF to get a gaming rig going (and hopefully keep me occupied) while I’m stuck at home. I considered the 3600, but figured this way I could more reasonably upgrade to the 4xxx series later.

Some days ago we got a new telly, Samsung QE43Q60R. Not Big, not high-end but, neither of us is prepared to pay a lot for a TV, nor do we want a 55"+ monster. The QLED panel is superb, adaptive brightness works very well and the smarts are slick and fast. The LG it replaced was slower than a slow thing that's slow, from slow land, on a particularly slow day.

So, a bit faster than Vista on release day?

GPU was already sorted, I found an open box 2070 super at a decent price. so I used the saving to pick up a Noctua L9a-AM4-chromax which is now on its way to me :)

I didn't play this on first release due to bugs, and a bunch of things I read in reviews that made me think I might not love it... and just sort of forgot about it.

Revisiting a few reviews, I figure it's worth a punt now, especially with a load of mods available that seem like they can massage a few things out if needs must.

    There's looooaaads of mods.

Most bugs fixed and you can make it look real pretty now.

Plus new companion mods, quest mods and Sim Settlements adds whole new dlc sized quests, npcs and building capabilities.

The base building is one of the things that initially put me off, and still does a bit
I like the idea of base building, but I don't like the idea of "your base is under attack stop what you're doing and go back and hold everyone's hand"
Hopefully it's not as irritating as I've found it in other games, or it's something that can be modded away if so.

I hate base building in most games that aren't 4x strat games, and well.

I didn't even notice it was a thing in Fallout 4. Yes, it is an option, but I don't recall many times when you're compelled to do it. I think I did a bit on one settlement but the rest of the building place options I just ignored the hell out of and don't recall any detrimental effects.

You don't need to build any of that. At all. I've done four playthroughs and I've just built what I had to for quests each time. In the last one I did I did pimp my house and built a small house on the island. But mainly just so I could bump uglies with Piper to get the perk that drives up your XP after sex lol.

Have a look at Sim Settlements. Kinggath has a channel on YT.

It's massive, expands the building, adds in new factions and quests and enables you to select how involved you want to be while settlements are built. Choose a plan and let it go. I think you can even get NPCs to manage them iirc (been a while).

Seriously is worth a look on one playthrough, I did several with hardly to no building but now I wouldn't be without SimS. More info here if you fancy it anyway https://simsettlements.com/
