Having sold all my guitars a few months ago, I decided I still wanted a semi-decent one, so I've bought myslef an Epiphone Les Paul Studio Gothic.. It looks rather nice, and felt lovely...

I hope you got a good deal, ie less than £180 I believe they have been discontinued or there are very limited stocks left. For me I will never get another Epiphone les paul as long as I live, I sent mine back on friday the pick ups getting dropping out (sound wise, not out of the body :p) and the volume knob on the rhythm channel went up and down on its way to 10, my brothers special II (I know its cheap) the selector switch broke.

I am buying a new acoustic in a few days, then getting an LTD eclipse when somewhere gets some decent ones in stock, which is supposed to be December.

I had an Epiphone SG 310 for 3 years and nothing ever went wrong with it...

Mabey I should get one of those in Gothic colours instead... **puzzled** :geek:

Dude an SG gothic would be the nuts, how can you resist that. In fact I don't know if I can :D

I think the issues are les paul only, mainly the standard. Seems they are built in either Taiwan or China, and if you get a china made one it will fall to pieces but if you get a Taiwan made one you basically have yourself a cut price Gibson. Mine came with a big blemish in the finish where the neck meets the body, and the neck pickup surround fit way too tight against the neck and was bending because of it, and it was screwed on too tight so there was a white stress mark in the plastic...needless to say it was built in china.

super Ninja edit: You should check out the SG Custom EX, its got EMG 81/85s, which you know you want. It is around £300 though.
