Got this from Ebay. It's a moving coil cart. £250 RRP I paid £155. The guy bought it as a stand in whilst his was being rebuilt. You can't change the stylus on a MC without having it rebuilt.

Also from Ebay a Bontrager carbon fork. Will refurb these and paint the silver bits black.

Should be a great weight saving, as mine are steel.

    5ft trestle table. For..... reasons*.....

8TB IronWolf NAS drive - made sure I got a CMR instead of SMR drive, even though I'm not using it in a RAID array...

Another Dell R210 II (16GB RAM, E3-1240 V2) - this one will replace a number of systems, including a very expensive Hetzner server that I'm using for Plex...

*Painting & sanding out the back - going to need a lot of table space while things are drying/curing...

Actually purchased it a while ago, but it's only just arrived: Playdate console. Currently charging it up...

Which is bloody annoying as I meant to put a GB40 in my basket, so it'll have to go back and be replaced.

I just imagine you sitting at your desk winding it up. Only 457 more winds to go.

I've been tempted by them in the past, seriously impressive kit but I was always kind of worried about reports of them failing. Saying that, I was at the camping once where someone's daughter had drained their car battery and one of our group was able to produce one of those and smugly start it right up :p:

Condition looks good in the photos, and it's displaying an image - even if it's just '00'! - so that's a positive at least.

Yup. Working on those CRTs is something I don't appreciate doing. Too dangerous. Do you have a discharge rod if it needs work?

    Nice get @Byron C . I picked up a similar freebie recently.

@KayinBlack messing with CRTs is fine once you've learned where not to touch. I use an HV probe to discharge mine. Lots of more modern chassis' have a discharge circuit built in anyway, so the risk is much reduced.

I'm just hoping it doesn't need any work doing to it!

If it does then the seller can have it back. I'd be prepared to take on repairing a smaller TV, like 14" or so, but not something this size.

This was no freebie sadly, but still way cheaper than the insane prices people are charging for Trinitron TVs.

You have a good handle on it. Probably better than me at this point.

Ever seen the schematic of a Trinitron of that era? Doesn't really fill me with joy... Still, as you say - if it doesn't work, it goes back! Looks from the '00' image that the CRT bit works alright (save for any weirdness across the front of the tube).

The trick will be to test it in their garage, that way if it craps the bed you haven't broken yourself
