Yeah, the 3 pin fans that came with it were a bit weedy and whiny. They were ok for basic exhaust but applying a temperature curve in Fan Control resulted in more whinyness.

I think I spent a couple of months or more looking for ~10mm slim 80mm PWM fans but couldn't find them in stock anywhere. I looked again recently, when I decided to keep the i7-9700T, A2000 and ZS-A4DC chassis and, all of a sudden, they're readily available on Amazon. Hence the passive PSU and new fans. I still need to make a FLEX ATX adapter plate to mount the C5 clover power socket, because it's kinda just jammed in there - I'll bodge something for the time being, but a proper plate will likely be the first project for my mini end mill (once I sort some tools and accessories for it).

That's a nice little rig. Which PSU are you using?
I'm wondering about a 280W pico type from Aliexpress with a 300W mean well 12V unit for my 4.5L case.
I still am not convinced about quiet Flex ATX PSUs even at silly money.

I splurged on a HDPLEX 250W GaN Passive PSU. It's just jammed in the bottom of the chassis and held with some 3M gel tape, but I'll fix it properly once I've made that adapter plate.

The whole rig uses less than 150W when gaming, so there's a decent amount of headroom.

Ah, very nice. That looks to be a really nice unit, I wouldn't mind one myself. Although it's a bit more expensive than a modified Flex PSU, you can be sheet it'll operate quietly.

I'm no tech expert but I would say that what you're describing is the Oxford English definition of 'fix it properly' already :thumb:

Yes, it has to be really small to accommodate a 360mm rad

I clearly still can't work photo sharing from a phone. Should be fixed. I think.

But yeah, it's no SFF build, but the Alta G1m is significantly smaller footprint than my ancient LianLi.

This series of posts will be my new go-to if anybody asks me why I still come here after all those years.
