I'm a big fan of Hobgoblin :thumb:, though I don't think I've tried their Ruby yet. Always good to see Old Speckled Hen in there too

I've not had a bottle of Hob in ages, since I moved to Purity Brewing, I might have to pick a couple of bottles up for old times sake :thumb:

Yeah I love that stuff. Back when I used to drink I used to drink it all the time (OSH) as well as Old Peculiar and Newcy brown ale.

Last time I had anything to drink was the world cup, where I drank two Carlsberg. Mum said "Do you want some beer for the final?" which I had been thinking about. So we did an Iceland shop, where they had 3 for £6 which I thought was more than reasonable. One pint across the street costs that now ffs.

Hobgoblin Ruby is solid, a lot of red beers taste disgustingly red but they've perfectly balanced that one, well worth trying.

I'm imagining Vault having "+1 caps" flash up each time he opens one :hehe:

Apparently this is even better than the Cadbury one.

That remains to be seen, but gosh it was expensive. It better be !

Perusing Gumtree earlier and picked up a later manual focus Tamron 90mm f2.5 macro lens with 1:1 extension tube and Nikon adaptor.
This should make a fine portrait lens, and great for close up work with more stand off than my existing 55mm micro lens.
All at a wallet friendly price and a run out of town on a sunny afternoon

Failed my saving throw at Saturday's "Stand by for Action 2" Gerry Anderson concert in Birmingham.

Both "Limited Edition" (1500 total). The striped one was allegedly #1499.
Since I now have a collection, I also pre-ordered the third one in the set, due next month.

So in order, my ale review.

In number three we have the Hobgoblin red. One thing I will say, DO NOT sniff it when you open it. It smells like cheesy smegend. IE when you have bareback sex with your wife all day and get a whiff of yourself taking a pee. It's nasty. The taste though? belies the smell. 7/10.

Number two? was the surprise of the day, the Shipyard ale. It was bloody lovely. Tasted very similar to the winner 8/10

Number one? rule britannia. It was the Speckled Hen. An old love of mine, back when I could sink 13 of the buggers. 9/5/10

    Space 1999 Eagles?
IIRC the Dinky ones were well differentiated 40+ years ago...
I had the one with the radioactive waste barrels

That's the one I had/have! I'd forgotten which one until you mentioned, could click the barrels in and rotate them in the carrier.
Unfortunately I think the barrels and carrier will be lost but I definitely still have the Eagle.

Yep. Not Dinky though, those disappeared decades ago. Hopefully, the collection will get that far.
The best bit is that these ones aren't metallic green like they were from Dinky!

Beers in the hotel bar with one of the guys on my team before two very important workshops with a client in Vienna.

I'll be paying for those myself because it's the right thing to do.
