Oh that's nice. Always liked Murano glass, but it is something that I have tried to stay away from, not another collecting rabbit hole that I want to get lost in, I have too much stuff anyway...

My wife collects the Pandora style beads and getting her a couple of the glass ones of those now and again helps to scratch that itch...

When I went out to the US for the first time I got her some Wedgewood. The blue and white stuff. Candle holders and a clock. When out there I got her some Lenox. She has a small collection, nothing over the top tbh.

Nice, I'm a great fan of 'proper' hex sockets - none of those multi-dimpled things specifically designed to round off rusty corners that leave you yelling in frustration.

    X2 of these.

I recently spent three days trying to redraw a decal. It was enormously difficult. Then I realised if I had one of these it would have been pish.

Given 99% of what I do is tracing over low res flash burned photos it will be perfect.

My Chord Mojo is playing up. Basically I tried removing the battery but it does not work without it. IDK why, maybe the USB hub is not giving it enough juice. TBH I never wanted to run it on a battery. Problem is said battery is now fudged and it keeps turning off. And it is not even warm. So, I saw a dude convert one to a full powered no battery DAC with a 7.4v PSU.

I may also buy a thin heatsink given said battery will be gone. I would be gutted if it totally dies because it has all the power to power any cans. Like, it is insane. Dank called it a marracca cracker lmao.

I picked up the M.2 A+E key version a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what you paid for the USB version, but I was surprised at how cheap the M.2 version was.

Not sure I’m wholly sold on Frigate as an NVR solution to be honest, but it seems to be one of the better open source projects that has object & motion detection. I’ve tried ZoneMinder in the past and did not get on with it… Shinobi worked OK for a while, but I’m not sure how well it can integrate with HomeAssistant and setting up object recognition was a bit of a ballache last time. Most recommendations seem to come down to proprietary turn-key solutions like Ubiquiti, Synology, Blue Iris, etc. Blue Iris is tempting, I might still give the trial a go, but it’s Windows only… ewww… :blah:

Paid 72 euros for it. They seem to be quite a bit more expensive than the PCIe version, I think because less faff.
I tried Shinobi, it was such a ballache and never got it working. I'm using Frigate now and with the latest update which gave it a bit of a makeover, it seems pretty nice. Easy enough to set as a browser app on your phone as well.

That's why I'll cancel it (and all the other "premium" memberships) as soon as the phone arrives next week. :thumb:

EDIT - They won't deliver to my workplace, so I now have a 5-day Bank Holiday weekend booked

That battery life on the watch, though. "Up to 36h in battery saver mode"... *laughs in 28 days (up to 37 days with enough exposure to sun) from his Garmin*

And before anybody says "butt muh (AM)OOOOOOLLLLEEEEEEEED!!!111". MIP displays are perfectly readable in almost all situations, thank you very much.

    Interesting...

Any plans on how to keep the GPU dust free?

Yeah, I was thinking of printing a shroud for the dock, if I decide to use it long term. I was going to buy one of those tiny docks from Ali and power it with a HDPlex 250W GaN, and I may yet do that because I could make it really compact, but the DEG1 was a bargain and I won't have to wait weeks for delivery.

Is the iWatch really better in the battery department?
