BTW yes I love corned beef hash. In fact I love corned beef anything.

In NJ USA they make this thing where they make corned beef, dry it out a bit, shred it, put it on toast and then smother with a creamy coloured sausage gravy. It was always one of my fave things to eat out there. However, they used to call it s**t on a shingle lmfao. So you would have to ask for it by that :D

I was at The Cave with my brother on Sunday, and I can never come away from that place without buying at least something.

    GEM desktop clock

It's just a printed piece of metal with a cheap clock mechanism bolted to it... but I had to have it when I saw it . There's also a version for RiscOS, Windows 3.1, and, of course, Workbench.

Those coasters are awesome, love them.

One of my university lecturers used to use silicon wafers with taped edges as coasters in his office, always fancied doing that at some point.

Reminds me of this I built a while back:

An ePaper display in a printed Workbench screenshot with a cut-out, serving as decoration. Updated hourly with weather and my to-do list.

Second image links directly to the store page

That’s pretty damn neat. I’d hope it was strong tape though, you wouldn’t want those edges being exposed!

A couple of coasters my mother picked up for me ages ago are reclaimed PCBs. One is unrecognisable, but the other one has some of the silkscreen intact and it is almost certainly an old motherboard.

That’s pretty damn awesome. Doubtless you’ve posted it before, you get a lot of cool toys and it’s hard to keep track

Almost holiday time. Will be counting the days soon. So, I got some clobber.

Kinda getting Warriors vibes. I only went on there for a fookin cushion

    Ended up getting towels too.

And of course, the obligatory footwear. I wanted something a bit more dressy than trainers, but wearable with posh joggers.

Nah, it's not you - I just looked at the BBCode of your post and it's almost there, the link in the image tags goes to the album page instead of the direct URL of the image:

    The BBCode you wanted was:

    Code:
    [IMG]https://i.imgur.com/ZzknvnE.jpg[/IMG]
Tip: Add 'h' or 'l' to the end of the filename - before the extension - to embed a smaller version of the image. E.g.:

    Code:
    [IMG]https://i.imgur.com/ZzknvnEh.jpg[/IMG]
This isn't a "you" problem though, this is a "stupid new imgur design" problem .

It doesn't make the sharing & embedding links quite as obvious as the old design. It used to be really easy to find pre-generated BBCode, but now it's a PITA - it's still there, just not as easy to find...

Once you've uploaded the image, click the three little dots and select "Get share links":

It'll then give you a bunch of embed links, and it's the "BBCode" one you're wanting:

See earlier tip about adding 'h' or 'l' if you don't want to embed a smaller 'thumbnail' instead of the full resolution.

If you have an imgur account then it's possible to still access the old sharing options, it's just very convoluted to get there now.

By default you're probably on the "New" design, which absolutely sucks so let's get rid of that first. Click your account icon in the top right and go to "Posts" or "Comments", either will work:

On the bottom right there's a link that says "Use old design" - click it and tell them to GFY:

Now... You still have to use the crappy new image uploader - there's no choice in that - but when you've uploaded the image, go back to the home page. Yeah, I know, it sounds daft, but bear with me...

From the home page, hover over your username, go to 'Images' and now you'll see the old gallery design:

Whenever you click an image you'll get the old link sharing menu, which is a hell of a lot better:

I did tell you it was convoluted to get there....

This is quite frankly, *sickeningly* helpful. Thank you!

    Let's give it a go...

Oh it works! You absolute gem you.

I would say mmm shiny but whoever valeted it needs an absolute slap, there was wax all over the shop... Should brighten up a bit at the weekend and I can give it a proper clean.

A HackRF One and portapack. For reasons.
A bunch of hot sauces. For other, unrelated, reasons.
A few Proffieboards. Three. Three Proffieboards. For Acolyte inspired reasons.
Other electronics related to the Proffieboards. For the same reasons.

Nothing special really, I'm on the verge of running out of my daily driver - Habenero/Chipotle/Amarillo so.

I ordered some Trinidad Scorpion based hot sauce, some Carolina Reaper based, an Amarillo based sauce, another custom mix based on Bhut Jolokia's, a custom BBQ sauce based on Habaneros and smoked peppers, and something my wife might be alright with, a Chipotle based hotsauce.

The hot sauce that comes with a Bombay Bad Boy is excellent, I've even googled it and found a disappointing Reddit thread where someone else has attempted to find out where it can be purchased.

Habaneros are foul though, I've not got much sense of taste but I can spot them a mile off!

That's a pot noodle right? It sounds absurdly familiar but the Germans really don't do things with flavo-- I mean, spicy food. They also have a massive hardon for actively avoiding English stuff around here. My local store only got salt and vinegar walkers last year, and flamin' hot Doritos this month.

I quite like Habaneros, they're about as far as I go while also tasting the rest of the meal. The Trinidad stuff and Jolokia stuff I've found goes really well on the burritos I make, just a line of each up the middle, under all the stuff. Reaper is just absurd. Not an every day thing by any measure, but it has its moments.

But anything spicy makes the work food taste better. Not that it's bad, mind you, it's just.. German. So a lot of potato in various formats, wurst in other formats, and the ever predictable schnitzel. The goulash is pretty okay, but it's better when it's spicy. Everything else is a trip through the flattest country you can imagine, but in your mouth.

    OT:
    Disposable microfibres
    Panel wipe
Gtechniq Ceramic coating. Hopefully it's as forgiving as the CarPro stuff that just had to buff off.
