Awesome thanks. I don't intend to wash it. If anything gets stuck on it I will just scrape it off. I won't heat it for an hour, though. Will just preheat the oven to temp then put pizza in. I am a little concerned as I cook at night when the sleep meds are just kicking in, so I need to be careful at least a bit.

Just made a great discovery. I thought I had used all of the slots on my server board. Well, desktop board I use in the server. I realised I have a free x1 slot. Result ! I only want a 2.5gb card in the server and the desktop I use to send data onto it. Everything else is read only stream. So I got two Intel based cards, as TrueNAS doesn't like the Realtek based ones.

And a switch. Again, no point going ham as only two things will use it.

Looks like I will need a new router too. That can wait for now. I'm away for two weeks from tomorrow so yeah.

For pre-made frozen or chilled pizzas… probably not. I don’t think I’ve ever tried it tbh…

But if you’re making it from dough then it definitely does make a difference. It’s not as good as a pizza oven, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to store and a hell of a lot cheaper than a pizza oven.

I’d love to get a proper pizza oven but I can’t justify the cost, I’d use it a few times a year at most.

I had a stone for a while but it did eventually break. I used to wipe it down (not soak it) and always let it heat up and cool down inside the oven. A pizza peel was essential too.

I now use a cast iron shallow/pancake pan. Get the pan hot on the hob and the grill on max. Drop on the dough in the pan on the hob and when it starts to puff up a bit add sauce and toppings then stick it under the grill. This was in a Franco Manca cook book for those lacking a pizza oven.

I cook frozen ones. I had a ventilated pan and it is a bit dead after all the years of use so I figured I would get a stone. The base never crisps in the pan I have. Will be interested to see the difference. It didn't cost any more than a new pan so I figured it is worth a try :)

If you have a self cleaning oven you can use that to get temps beyond 250C perhaps up to 450C, lovely for Neapolitan pizza base.

Somehow I have ended up with a few Pizza ovens......how does that happen, indoor / outdoor, whenever, always Pizza all the time in my house :D

After getting the IFS kit (£4100) fitted to my F100, I've now found I need a new sump for the engine to get the engine to clear the steering rack (£1k) so

    Rear well sump
    oil pickup pipe
cap bolt with mount for pickup pipe
    dipstick
    sump gasket
    high volume oil pump
Universal Joint for the steering rack
    and a baseball cap, :D

£715 shipped from Summit in the US, + whatever import charges get stuck on it too, probably not going to have much change left from £1k.

Then once the engine fits without hitting anything I've got to make some engine mounts, then I've got to modify the drivers exhaust manifold so I can connect the steering column to the rack. Oh fun, :D

This trucks going to bankrupt me :grin::waah:

That weed I bought with the CBD on is awful.... To smoke. It's so harsh it just kills your throat. Probably because of all of the CBD on it. As thus I need to get some coconut milk next time I do Iceland and make tea with it. I have been waiting for two months for this to come up.

An oz of hash. Which I prefer 100 times more than the weed. Just a quick bong is enough to set me up.

I snagged this old battered e-bike with a battery for a 20$ donation to the SPCA. It needs a bit of TLC and possibly a new controller but it’s solid and the motor works. Also, against all odds, the bloody battery is alive. With a full charge, at max speed & without pedaling, I got 21.8km on flat surface. I couldn’t believe it, I was expecting either dead or drained after 1km.

A software update bricked my Motorola Edge 40 Neo this morning, and while I've dug an old handset out to keep me going it's not great: 64GB storage, last security update 1st of May... 2023.

There's a saying, they have it in Texas, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, won't get fooled again:

    upload_2024-10-18_11-19-22.png

Yes, I've bought another Motorola. The Edge 50 Neo, this time, which I'm sure will be much more reliable(!)

To be fair, I've sent the Edge 40 Neo in for repair/replacement/refund via Amazon, which was easy enough - but it's a 14-day turnaround, and I spend... like, a third of the day working on my phone. Hopefully they say it's buggered and can't be replaced, so I get a straight refund; if not... does anyone want to buy a Motorola Edge 40 Neo?

If you're just doing frozen pizzas don't use a tray and you'll get a crisp base. If you want to prevent topping dripping off onto the oven base, put a tray on the rack under it.
You can also get "pizza steels" which are supposedly better than pizza stones for domestic oven use. Heat up quicker and get hotter for a crisper base, but a large well seasoned cast iron pan just as good and will do deep pan/Chicago style pizzas thanks to the cupped edges.

Potentially yeh. Mrs crap is currently running my old pixel 6, but she managed to break the screen within days, the usb port is buggered and battery is a bit sketchy. Although the battery is perhaps more of her own doing as she has no regards for selective notifications.

Reason I never put them on the rack is because they have literally sagged between the bars in the past and made the worst mess. Ever.

The stone has handles on, so I just realised I really should have these too.

Will be using it for the first time next week. Away atm.

Really glad I went with the 20L model. Whilst a proper comparison would be a lower rated of the same line, this thing strips water out the air like no tomorrow. Fills the 5L tank in a day not even running max fan speed, no more condensation on the windows in the morning, still pulled a full tank out yesterday despite no one having a shower or cooking. Well worth it.

I have a couple of Meaco DD8Ls, the one in the loft room did a great job stripping condensation that would layer the veluxs in the morning. Barely had to run much, emptied about once a week.

The one downstairs would be on pretty often in comparison and emptied daily but it had two rooms, a downstairs toilet and kitchen to deal with.

Now we've sold up and currently in a rental I don't actually need them, humidity is bang on and no condensation. They're on standby when winter it's and they may be needed when we buy.

Dehumidifiers make such a difference to just day to day life though.

Bored of current board, fingers still battered for demolishing the lounge, so wanted something with lighter switches and will be interesting to try out the new MX2A switches. Board looks real nice and already got a set of caps that'd look great on it.
