    This has been a revelation.

I'm just about to run Bazzite OS on my MS-A1 and the 10GB download took about three minutes. Would've been around 30 minutes on my old FTTC line.

What's with all these glass fleshlights?

    Seems an unnecessary risk.

Decided that I needed more to dust. This time, some 7"-scale action figures!

    Bike bits

HealTech 'Thunder Box' & USB add-on - basically a fused auxilliary power supply for accessories. Will be handy for the heated gloves I plan to get, as well as the other new toy...

"Aoocci" C9 Pro - CarPlay/Android Auto for your bike... plus also a front & rear dashcam and tyre pressure & temperature monitor. Hell of a lot cheaper than a dedicated motorcycle satnav and saves having to mount my phone to the handlebars - you don't want to do that if you have a modern phone because the vibration will destroy the optical image stabilisation...

£16.99 using a voucher currently active

    Anker P20i buds.

Cheap and cheerful but I just need something when traveling. Although my headphones fold up they're unnecessarily large for jaunts.

I think they're cheaper on the bay at the moment but gift card balance means free - which is always better :hehe:

E: In other news, I now need to consider some sort of handheld gaming device. My OH actually suggested it (she's gold dust) as she's not seen me on my PSP for years.

Mm! Also very happy with my regular deck, haven't tried the OLED. Have mine set up to emulate PS1, Dreamcast, Amiga and N64 off the same SD too, pretty nifty if that's the kind of thing you're into!

I'd probably go the LED route myself TBH. Cheaper and I won't be using it that often.

Well, maybe not that often.

Right now, the Deck is still the king of PC gaming handhelds for me. There are much more powerful devices on the market, but nothing beats the balance of performance, battery life, and affordability that the Steam Deck has. If you're buying one new now then there's no reason to go for the LCD model IMO; the OLED model doesn't just improve the screen, you get a small performance boost (dependant on the game) from faster memory, and other hardware revisions mean that the battery lasts that bit longer.

There are always rumours like this, but I think it's worth holding on a month or two to see if there are any announcements about a "Steam Deck 2". We're coming up on 3 years since the Steam Deck's launch now - well, ok, more like two and a half years if you count how long it actually took to get the device into people's hands....

There's been a lot of movement in PC gaming handhelds and there are a lot more devices on the market now. Valve recently updated its brand guidelines for Steam to include designations such as "Powered by Steam" or "Steam Compatible", strongly implying that there will be non-Valve handhelds on the way that will run SteamOS instead of Windows.

At the very least it's probably worth waiting to see what gets announced at CES 2025 - it starts on Tuesday next week :thumb:

Ta @Byron C , I'm not in a rush to buy and what with CES it may give an idea to the upcoming landscape.

First purchase will be a GPU so sometime after that.
