It's a ghost... in a shell. Geddit?

It's one of several GitS references in the game. Though I still maintain it looks like a ghost farting.

 

Washing machine been making a lot of noise. Bearings, thought I'd replace them, saw what a smudging ballache it would be to fit them, thought yeh no, I'm not doing that. Got a couple of quotes which were not far off a new one. So

It has a cleaning mode to keep it fresh, and a steam function for both clothes cleansing and further drum sterilizing. But this is what really sold it

Mrs Crap likes to wash towels to relax (genuinely), and that lady looks like a slightly Asian Mrs Crap too.

Also, you may remember I had bought some new monitors, then cancelled it because of the terrifying list of things that still need to be done in the house. Well, I spoke to Mrs Crap about it and her words were "oh don't be stupid. You spent so much of your time and money on doing up downstairs, of course you can buy a new PC. You certainly get your money out of it and if it makes you happy, then of course go for it. You big ****". So then.

Has all the bells and whistles, including 90W usb-c passthrough with dp for hooking up my work laptop. Had been a bit apprehensive of going for an OLED with using it for work and gaming, but recent hw unboxed video showed that even when stressing the monitor on purpose, screen burn was negligible.
EDIT: and fair play to overclockers, they had the Monitor up for £220 more than everywhere else, dropped them a ticket over the weekend to see if they'd price-match seeing how I was buying a shed ton of other bits from them, and they did!

My RX 5700 can't run helldivers as it is, definitely not with another 1.2m pixels, and there's no smegging way I'm attempting an upgrade on the mod, so brand new rig it is, isac gets passed onto Mrs Crap and can then join in on the shoot shoots. Not fannying round with custom loops, just nice and simple plug and play build.

Something a bit different than the usual suspects, they're all pretty much governed by the fans and thickness of the rad, the 9800xdb isn't so power hungry and the silvery cage bit over the pump-block will match the mobo and ram nicely.

- CORSAIR RM850x Gold ATX 3.1
850w is more than enough for what it'll be powering (550-600W) but is enough for if I ever plop a 600w '90 class card in. More than anything I wanted to make sure what I got was atx 3.1, so at least has the current 12vhightemp-hacksawjimduggan cable, even though it's unlikely I'll get a GPU that requires it, it's better to have than to not. Also PSU availability is surprisingly patchy.

- Corsair 2500X

Plain vanilla version, might upgrade the cover panels to either the satin aluminum ones to match the mobo ram and cooler, or walnut ones. Will decide later.

- Phanteks M25 Gen2 120mm Fans

I got 4 of the standard fans and 6 reverse flow fans (although will only need 5 of them). Their reasonably priced fans that have both a normal and reverse version so they can all match. Nothing too flashy, but enough of a something to illuminate the insides. They've also got real nice short daisy chain cables so there won't be a total rats nest to deal with. But there will be some....
- Corsair Commander XT
I've got a Corsair mouse and headset, so will have icue installed anyway, easy to keep it all in one place and the fan control software is decent enough. Also got a bunch of adapters for the RGB and a couple of pwm splitters to group the fans by location. Might end up de-shrouding the GPU and just have the fans in the floor do the work, and I know icue will take GPU temp as a target for the fan curve, so thinking ahead.
