A last breath of air for my aging laptop:
Nvidia GTX1070M 8G (should work fine with the custom bios I got before the dev got hired by Eurocom)
New battery, should be enough to last a whole 1h30m

i5 13500T and an Asrock Z790 PG-ITX/TB4 - An ITX board with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, three m.2 slots and three SATA ports.

After a moment of clarity, I have decided I have waaaay too much stuff and it's not getting used enough, so the obvious move was to buy more stuff. Honestly, I think this board and CPU will provide a perfect balance for my requirements. I have stopped chasing the high end with either CPUs or GPUs.

Obviously, I'll be offloading a bunch of other kit, including my growing array of T variant CPUs, ITX boards, one of my Minisforum boxes (probably the MS-01) and a Lenovo Tiny PC, followed by either the 4060 LP or the RTX 4000 SFF - I love them both but one has to go - head says I should sell the 4000 SFF but the heart is screaming nooooo, sell the 4060 LP. Either will fit in my 4 litre case.

Probably for the boardroom. There's usually plenty of arseholes in there.

Took a punt on some studio clearance auctions:
    • 2x MacBook Pro - earlier models
    • 2x Surface Pro gen4
    • 1x Surface Pro gen7
All unknown spec, though I have a better idea about the Surface specs. Taking a punt because they were bought sight unseen and there is absolutely no takesies-backsies: you get what you get and that’s final. Some stiff fees, too - not included in the bid price is VAT, a buyer’s premium of 18%, and VAT on the buyer’s premium. All told, what you pay is about 42% over the bid price

The only one that went a little higher than I’d have liked was the gen7 Surface, the rest were pretty cheap (even with all the fees on top). Even if they turn out to be turds, I can probably still make my money back selling them as “spares & repair”.

Oh yes, plus I need to drive to Lincolnshire to get them… (Fuel was factored in to what I paid though; unlike most impulse purchases, this one was at least slightly planned! :thumb:)
