    And you have to have a Samsung phone to allow the full suite of health monitoring, oh and One UI 8 sucks on watches.

    Samsung health works fine on my Honor is that not all you need? but I don't have a Samsung watch personally, it's OS seems much the same as any other watch having played with my missus' one, my daughter has the Apple, so they are my main exposure aside from my Amazfit GTR which is ancient.

    What is the better OS, I am looking for a new one mines many years old now, quite simple and only lasts a week or so, used to last three, so considering something better featured?

    The Garmin stuff looks good but don't know any owners

    Nope, it runs fine on my Pixel too, but as I said to use the full suite of watch health monitoring do dads you need a Samsung phone paired with the Samsung watches.
    Blood pressure, ECG, irregular heart alerts, sleep apnea all won't work with a non Sammy phone, everything else does.

    One UI 8 has killed the Samsung watches for me though, pill shaped small displays, change in how stress tracking works, change in how sleep tracking works, hit and miss auto exercise detection, loss of battery performance, I think I'll be chopping in my Sammy Ultra for a Garmin of some sort if prices drop over Christmas.

    Got a Galaxy S24 Ultra, so, again no problems there - did my due diligence in looking for a replacement for my existing one, read a few reviews, watched a few reviews and read a few positive and negative threads on reddit (they are polarised somewhat - those that love them do so wholeheartedly and those that hate them truly loathe them!)

    Yeah the not being able to access certain features has never bothered me, I've had Sammy watches since the Watch 5 and I knew what I was getting into, but the tiles is properly boiling my urine.

    To go from this for every app;

    To stacked tiles that use less than half of the screen real estate is just daft;

    Hmmm, is it and option or something, my missus looks like the one above, or do I have a ton of whining coming my way after she does an update.

    Yeah it's an option, you have the option to not update or to update to One UI 8, once you've updated you're stuck with the small stacking tiles, I've no idea how far they've got with the roll out or how far back it'll go.

    4 channel thermal data logger and some kapton tape. The electronics for my subsea lights worked first time (which is deeply surprising) but I'm getting weird thermal anomalies between the aluminium and steel housings! So hopefully this will shed some light! And some new lenses for the above lights, as I want some tighter beams.

    Mr Stabby and family, I really wanted to get some decent Global knives, but the wife would abuse the heck out of them, so just semi good regular knives;
