I've been gettting seriously fed up with my MP3 player lately (an old stick style 512mb ipod shuffle, which I've been using since my brother killed the battery on my 30gb ipod last September (which I still need to get fixed)) so I bought a 16gb ipod Touch* £199 in Morrisons (marked up as £249).

It's great apart from the fingerprints which get on the screen because you can't use a stylus.
I'm now working my way through a back log of Channel Flip podcasts which have built up.

Edit: looking through amazon I've just found out it's a gen 1 model not a gen 2.

*this marks the first ipod I've actually bought as the other 2 were given to me.

Half a crate of Pepsi RAWs in awesome glass bottles with the added essence of freebie to make them taste even better. I'll probably grab some more tonight.

Just to cheer you up, Argos do the 16gb 2nd gen for £209.83. Would Morrisons refund you? I've recently got a touch (£161 for 8gb) and I'm very impressed. I just need to go through about 15gb of music now and sort the wheat from the chaff!

Don't know if they'd refund or not (especially since I've used it).

Apart from (looking at the spec on Amazon) a brighter screen, a slightly longer battery life and a beveled edge is there much difference between a G1 and a G2?

If not then I'll prob not bother changing it and keep the G1.

I just wish I could use a stylus with it. Nothing more anoying than having to clean the screen of fingerprints everytime I put a podcast/video on.

If aimed at me, the backup plan is a near identical (but un-raided) server sitting in my flatmates room. If we get broken into and both get stolen, the data is the least of my worries...

    I just purchased:

    - OCZ EliteXstream 1000W
    - 8Gb (4*2Gb) DDR2 PC2-8500 1066Mhz 5-5-5-15 for $80!

If anyone is interested in the RAM, check here (But hurry up because it seems the listing goes down in about five hours. Also I don't really know the brand or manufacturer, but at that price I can't really fault it. So, I'm excited to see if they're any good - if not, they'll be sold on).
