Five Years? Wow, congrats! Shouldn't you be buying her an engagement ring instead though? ;) :p

4 pack of "Superstar" sintered brake pads, cheap enough, see how they do.

    Currently just at 4:
2 Prakticas ( one from a friend and one from my dad upon hearing of the start of collection) - not working
    Nikon Ftn
    The Rolleicord

Still got a list of a few more that i want but taking it slow for now to spread the cost out.
To add to my latest purchases i got the film and battery required for the Ftn and Rolleicord so shall be out when the weather is a little brighter to try shooting with them both.

Lovely camera Chris! That looks and sounds like a very interesting hobby :)

It's not a purchase but I will be getting something in the post in the next couple of weeks. I had to send one of my diagnostic tools - a Fluke multimeter - back to the local dealer last week because it started acting funny, switching off randomly and giving bad/inaccurate readings. I just heard from Fluke themselves today who tell me they are going to replace my unit free of charge because it was under warranty, and that they are re-starting the extended warranty on the meter to make up for the inconvenience.

    Now that's good CS! :)

I have been with my girlfriend 14yr in April. We are happy with two kids, why would a piece of paper saying we are married be needed?

Please, please don't say things like that within earshot of lawyers, especially not lawyers who have training in family law, like me. You need the piece of paper because of what happens when you're not happy anymore. You have no rights at present to each other's financial earnings or assets. If - say - you work, and your partner does not, and you decide to leave her, she has very little claim upon anything bought with your money, which will be more or less everything, including the house etc, and she can quite literally be left destitute. Not only that, your kids may be poorly provided for in case of a relationship breakdown; if that's acrimonious I can guarantee that there will be much costly litigation to decide exactly how much everyone owes them - and that will be traumatic for everyone involved.

In addition, as a non-married couple, you pay more tax - including some that married couples don't pay at all when willing assets to each other, like Capital Gains and Inheritance taxes. Your pension - if you have one - will often not pay out to cohabiting partners like it will to spouses. That's not the only problem with death - you have no rights to your partner's assets and if they die intestate you won't get a penny or brick of everything that's in their name.

I know it's not very romantic to have to consider what will happen if you break up - or, God forbid, one of you is killed - but especially when there are children involved, it's foolish to just hope for the best. Read up on DirectGov. For whatever the cost and inconvenience of a registry-office marriage is, you would be very, very committed to not 'having a piece of paper' to avoid one.

This issue is so controversial - and the ignorant myth of 'common law marriage' so widespread - that the Government is considering implying marriage after a certain period of cohabitation. I think that you would have to be a gambler to let your children's welfare rely on that, though.

But my last proper purchase, or computer related one at least, was a Coolermaster Silent Gold 800w.

haha, I'd love to, but it isn't in the cards right now, between still being in college, both being under 20, and how badly our plan to live together last year went (parents on both sides were less than supportive), we are waiting on that for a bit.... :grr:

The Amazon Kindle 3, WiFi only version. Don't really need the 3G as, should I need one, I can have a 3G WiFi hotspot wherever I go (thank you Android).

It is a fantastic piece of kit, and the screen really is that good. In fact, it's better than that.
