Kids... behave. My driving license in Germany cost me €1600. Back in '02. You don't want to begin guessing at how much it is now.

~£800 for 20 lessons, theory test (passed first time), practical test(passed first time, instructor's car) and Pass plus - last year

My 1995(!) Ford Escort 1.4 just passed it's MOT on the first run trough. That means that with insurance (named driver on my missus') and tax, this car is costing us about £500 a year

On topic: bought a shedload of apps for my iPad 2. My favourites include InformantHD, Garage Band, rock Band reloaded, Textastic and notability. It's looks like this thing is going to be far more useful than my laptop ever was :eeek:

Suckers. Mine cost me a fat lot of bugger all in lessons.

Thank god for driving instructor parent!

    40k thunder hammer arms.

Edit: Two Laylax Nineball piston heads for the two 1911's without them, one "winter" (It's slightly larger, better fits the Guarder Muzzle loader) for the one with the Guarder Muzzle Loader. Toying with the idea of "rifled" barrels for them, too..

Mine cost the company I work for about a grand. Passed first time, thankfully. Theory test full marks, hazard test pased first time, practical test passed with 9 minors which were mostly hesitation in a fairly busy Peterborough.

Just bought some nice things for t' mrs.

Couldn't quite get the IPS monitor i wanted, although i'm very happy and impressed with the Iiyama.

Purchase update since just after Christmas:

    - Iiyama Prolite B2712HDS 27" Monitor
    - D-Link 323 2 Bay NAS
    - 4x 2TB Samsung Spinpoint F4s
    - Logitech G510
    - Vertex 2E 120GB
    - Nintendo DSi + Games (For Wife)
    - Q Acoustic 1010i / 1000Ci for bedroom surround setup
    - HTC Desire HD (Decided to get rid of the iPhone 4 and go back to Android)

    Next on the purchase list:

    - 800w+ PSU (Corsair)
    - Another 6870 for crossfire
    - Another Iiyama Prolite B2712HDS
    - Audi A4 estate or VW Passat estate (no older than 08-09). This is dependant on my wife landing a job soon. Really had enough of the Renault Espace as our family car, it's draining my account everytime i service and MOT it.

You won't be sorry about the Corsair - My stalwart "daily driver" rig is currently powered by an HX850 and it mas more than enough juice to run my SLI'd 260's, OC'd i7 and all the drives and memory I can throw at it. They're a true champ of a PSU. As far as the new car goes, I concur. My brother is in a similar position at the moment with an 8 year old MG 25/Rover 200. It's still running ok, but it's cost him a lot on parts every time it's come up for MOT for the past 3 years and has needed parts to keep it roadworthy in between. If Dad and I weren't fitting them for him (i.e. if he was paying a full time mechanic in a garage down the road) it'd be costing an absolute fortune. We just put a new CV joint boot, calliper and calliper holder on the front drivers side last month, and before that I fitted an electric window mechanism on the drivers window. Thank goodness for the local breakers yard and a steady supply of SH parts

Congrats, health to enjoy your new steel mate! Looks like a beauty. You're a chef, right? Only chefs or knife enthusiasts buy sweet blades like that :thumb: A couple of my Spyderco's are VG-10 and I have to say, it's a superb steel. It holds a really fine edge that just lasts and lasts :)
