Those must be effing difficult to line up correctly.

Just to warn you: until you install the drivers, the fan will run faster than it has to (at least that's what I found when installing a 5870).

Cant wait for this, should be in next week sometime. Felt kinda pressured into buying it as the online store I was watching it on was playing with my mind (went down in price, then up back to retail, then was sold out... then I bought one when was in stock... website shows out of stock now, lol )

 

Pete J: they are not too bad. as i have no worries about touching my eyes so can easily play about with them took about 5 mins to get them right

You will LOVE this! IMHO it's the best Technic kit that has ever been released. Take the time to get all the axles running true though.

Edit: oh, and before I forget, the middle 'arm' can have its range extended by moving the actuator head down a hole.

Fair enough. I've worn contacts in the past and could get them in no problems, but I wouldn't like to have to fiddle too much!

I'd actually need advice for my next purchase:

My CPU (C2D E6600) and/or mainboard died yesterday (no POST, no beeps, already replaced the MB battery) and now I have a few options:

• replace with a "new" socket 775 system
• replace with a socket 1155 or AM3 system
• buy a MacBook Air

I don't play any games on PC anymore so having a big desktop doesn't really make too much sense for me, hence the MBA option. And please resist the urge to turn this into a Mac v PC debate, thanks.
If I do upgrade/replace my current PC I'd like to keep it cheap.

 

Start a new thread/read around in Hardware, this ain't the place for extended musings.

 

Not really the right place for this, but anyway: if you don't need any more performance or other new fancy stuff, I'd try to get the CPU checked and just replace the mobo. Shouldn't cost ~anything, so you can still have the laptop if you want.
