'PC' is surely a must for the thread title if it's going to be extended beyond steam. It will only take one schmuck 14 yr. old coming in here and telling us 'CoD: Run, Bang, Dead' is reduced to £36.99 at Blockbusters for the PSP for me to seriously lose my rag.

    I propose a new title:

"PC Gaming bargains, preferably Steam, and don't you dare even think of posting anything non-PC/non-bargainous on this thread or we will hijack your sig, add your home contact details to it and sign you up to brutalbumbashings.com

Admittedly, under my proposed title I would now be celebrating my membership of said brutalbumbashings.com due to the contents of my last post lacking anything bargainous.

But luckily, I'm already a member...

In related news, Audiosurf is friggin unbelievable! Can't believe I didn't believe the hype for so long, well worth the 2 quid or whatever I paid over the weekend. Wish I'd got a multipack, definitely know a few people who'll be getting it for Christmas...

Edit: Best song so far = Linkin Park - The Little Things Give You Away

Nice find, I like the way that Steam has prompted M$ to do crazy price sales as well.

Maybe... but 15 quid crap stings less than 27 quid crap no?

Microwabs have Shadowrun for 75p today, worth it?

See the like of MoH I personally don't think belongs here. Firstly, it's crap. Secondly, that's just how much it costs now, it's not on sale or limited offer. Which is fine if someone is asking for a cheap place to buy it but its not really a bargain, it's just a cheap game. Things on one day sales for 75p on the other hand...

Shadowrun is meh, I played it on release for a while and quite enjoyed it as it was something different. I would say at 75p deffinitley just pick it up, even if it's only for some games against AI. It's not the worst game out there.

This is a direct contravention of the ideals of this thread. You should expect your welcome email from brutalbumbashings.com shortly...

How so? This game had a massive launch this year, some people like it, some people don't.

It's still £29.99 on Steam and £34.99 from Games Planet. For someone that was considering buying it, but not sure based on reviews, then £14.99 is a bit of a bargain isn't it?

Which brings us to the whole "value vs price" argument. If a game is rubbish but is selling at a price far lower than everywhere else, is it a bargain?

For me, a bargain has to be something that offers me very good value for money. So while MOH is a good price, it is not a bargain to me. But that is my taste and others may really like the game making it a bargain for them. It's a conundrum.

Probably the best option is to post it if *you* consider it a bargain, cos if you like it then the chances are at least some other people will too.

You know, I was actually going to buy Shadowrun for that price of £0.75 until I realised just how many ****ing hoops I have to jump through to sign in to Microsoft's shitty service.

If it's not an issue with cookies it's an issue with Firefox vs IE, or whether my live.com account has an Xbox live profile attached to it (**** off xbox live, I'm trying to buy a game to play on my PC).
After spending 5 minutes trying to log in (and being told that they couldn't sign me out when I hadn't already signed in) I can only say **** this ****. (And lots of other forum-filtered words for good measure.)
It's not like it's even a decent game to begin with. They'd have to pay me the 0.75 instead to go through such a load of crap just to get it.
I swear... I'm not usually one to bash Microsoft at all, but it's like they're are trying to drive people away from Windows as a gaming platform with GFWL.

That's the principle which this thread has worked on since the beginning. Post the bargain and see if it's popular.

Can we get back on topic a bit please? We've had a bit of gassing in this thread, but the rename has brought up a great deal of procrastination.

Agreed - I don't give a **** what the thread is called - if you think there's a bargain to be had stick it up. If others disagree so what? Get back on topic!
