It doesn't seem to be available in many other place in the UK. Not on Zavvi and it's £29.99 on Amazon... £9.99 at Game, but only if you order the dvd online. (I don't understand game.co.uk their downloads are much more expensive than going to the store.)

Take your point though mate, that some games mysteriously 'revert' to their RRP just before they go into a sale with a then seemingly massive discount.

Marketeers can all go catch on fire....

Just in case anyone's looking. C&C4 can be had for £7.50 on Amazon, compared to the £14.99 on steam.

    Thanks for commiserating... :)

But seriously, does anyone believe they've sold even 1 copy of this game at 40€? Actually, I've no idea what the RRP of this game truly is. Yesterday it apparently was 25€, since it was sold at 20€ with a 25% discount. Today in the "sale" it supposedly is 40€, since it's sold at 20€ with a 50% discount. Whoever is behind this, Valve or some publisher: STOP SHAFTING YOUR CUSTOMERS!

I usually play at 1024x768 @ 100Hz. But have a look at my graphics card (hint: check out the sig. :)). There's no way I can play Crysis with any enjoyment at all right now. Looking forward to that new graphics card that'll still work with my CRT (another hint: it's sadly not going to be anything from ATI).

Never gonna happen. If one retailer does it.... the rest think it's ok to follow suit.

It just needs one person who isn't in marketing to be in charge for one day:-

Day 1, 8:00am realise that customers are smart
Day 1, 8:05am shoot marketing department.
Day 1, 8:10am realise that we'll buy more stuff if we don't feel like we're being bent over...

Never CBA to play Doom 3 through. And I'm not 100% certain the old games will run on modern PCs. They'll deffo look like crap though. :)

By the way, it seems like Crysis Complete Edition is cheaper in €(4.99) than in £(6.24). I'll gladly help out... :)

Hmm, anything with a DVI port should work with a VGA monitor (its part of the DVI spec and why AMD, Nvidia and intel are moving to HDMI/display port). You will need a £10 adaptor if there isn't one included (might have a spare one if you need it).

Biggest bargin currently is the 5870 at less than £200, with the new generation of ATI and Nvidia cards coming out the old ones are in clearance & have plenty of reviews so you know you are not buying a dud.

I'm running my 7950GT off DVI (analog). The problem lies in the drivers. The refresh rate, to be exact. It's mainly Microsoft's fault, but both ATI/AMD and nVidia follow suit. At least in the current nVidia drivers there's a workaround if you know what to do. All fun ends with Windows 7, though. I'll not get into it more here, since it's way too off-topic for this thread. Thanks for your input, though. :)

Just totted up my steam sale game total spend so far and it comes to £27.92 for 8 games plus humble bumble packs 1 & 2.

Not too bad going so far.

£2.49 for crysis and it's still one of the toughest games to run, at decent res with AA.

How many times has Dirt 2 been on sale, good game but c'mon Steam their are other games.

Considering there's not much going on in regard to the daily STEAM sale deals I've been looking at some of the games that are generally on sale.

Silverfall has caught my eyes. Any input?
