Thief: DS is a great game, some say the original two are even better but I haven't played them.

It also has one of the scariest levels found in a game IMO (I haven't tried Amnesia, but the Cradle level took me months to complete due to fear!).

The daily deal today, VVVVVV @ £1.99.
I've had this one since the Christmas deals and have loved playing through it... such an addictive little game, it gets very challenging at times as well (think Shift on crack). Personally I'd say well worth the £1.99.

Wow I watched the trailer slightly drunk and I feel a little ill. Looks like a cool concept but I think I'd just end up frustrated. Shift was pushing the boundary for me :hehe:.

possibly not, as while fun and kind of cute, it is hard. And features excessive trial and error (still very fun mind)

Wasn't there a YouTube vid that basically described VVVVVV using only expletives?

    Game does look fun though.

Yeah, VVVVVV was probably my favourite indie game of last year (suck it Minecraft), well worth the pittance they are asking. It can be a little frustrating at times (I never did manage it), but not overly so thanks to the frequent checkpoints. The soundtrack is awesome too.

By extension from DragunovHUN's thread GOG has now inked a deal with EA giving us access to some classic EA games, such as Dungeon Keeper, Wing Commander: Privateer and ...Ultimate Underworld 1 & 2!

Apparently 25 games are to be added to GOG's selection over the next few months with 6 now and the rest after a summer break. Sadly, System Shock and Syndicate aren't part of the deal right now.

Ultima Underworld 1 & 2 at $5.99 (for both games) was an insta-buy for me!

The first Red Faction seemed awesome when it came out, but hasn't aged well despite the fun gimmickry of the engine.

I never tried RF2 much, but it didn't seem great.

Guerilla, on the other hand, is actually really well worth a play; especially for €2.50. I've clocked up 46 hours in it according to Steam.
It gives the same kind of action-sandbox gameplay experience as Just Cause 2, but I found it had a more compelling gameplay gimmick in its building destruction physics than JC2's grappling hook and a more interesting setting overall.
If you like SandBox action games with a (vaguely) interesting-but-thin plot, give Guerilla a try.

    ---

Also, go spend money at GOG.com; Reward them for their awesome work in wrangling DRM-free releases of classic EA games!

I'm tempted by Guerilla but I have so many unplayed games already that I think, this time, I'll resist.

Privateer though...I remember playing this back when I had a P133. Good game but I always thought it lacked a certain something. I just wish someone would update Elite for modern PCs.

    Haha, I was joking!

But yes, I've had some real gems pop up. It's good to be able to get those great free games without the ads, and quite frequently actually; decent paid for apps and games also.
