Just need to once again vent my anger at STEAM's ridiculous Euro prices.

DX:HR is off 66% this weekend at $10.19, £10.19 and... 16.99€. WTF gives?

Luckily I managed to get it at almost US price back in early January from Shop. To, but that's beside the point.

Being in Denmark, you pay £11 for 2 pints of beer. I know this from personal experience. You're suffering from Denmarkian Tax. It is almost as high as Klingon tax.

True enough, we love to pay more for less here (25% VAT on _everything_), but as far as STEAM goes we "merely" pay the default Euro price. Which never ceases to amuse me (on some perverted level) as we don't use the Euro as currency here.

It's kind of like the pricing on something in the US versus UK.

A new GPU is announced priced at $400 in US and when it comes to UK it's £400.

    What happened to exchange rate?

I've wondered that. I think it may be to do with the worth of the currency in its own nation, not its worth when compared to another. If that makes sense?

I'd rather like to think Gordon Gecko's adage is still alive and well...

For those wondering about European pricing on Steam, it's a long long story which can be read about here in this mega thread.

It's nothing to do with taxes, it's just a good old shafting because they (publishers and Valve) can get away with it.

    Anyway, back on topic:

Bioshock £2.49 on GMG, ends at midnight I think.

    Dreamcast Collection £2.84 at ShopTo.

I've still never finished Bioshock (or even come close) as my old save was lost and when I finally got my own PC capable of handling it I found out it didn't play nice with Windows 7. Has it been fixed yet? None of the workarounds worked for me :grr:

Did you have to do anything or did it just work? Before I thrash my download allowance again

I just installed it and patched it. Not had any problems. So I suppose really I am assuming any issues were fixed rather than actually knowing if they were:blush:. Perhaps I am just lucky or maybe I just forgot..was a long time since I installed it lol

Have a look here and see if the problem you had is listed: http://www.bioshockgame.com/support/

    Found this too: http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread.php?117245-Vista-and-Windows-7

Cheers dude! I'm pretty sure the patch hasn't fixed it, it was a lot later than 2007 I was having problems but I'll try the stuff in that thread if it misbehaves :thumb:

Regarding the serious sam BFE or whatever it's called. The game is dire. No way worth £10.20

I deleted it rather quickly. I didn't pay for it. If I like a game I buy it. If there's no demo I install a hacked version and if I like it I buy. If I dont I delete.

Shows you how tastes differ - while I didn't like SS3 initially, later on the game gets pretty good. It's just getting past those early, less interesting bits.

Thanks for that deal, been meaning to get Mafia 2 for a long while. Looks like it was worth waiting for.

One thing is, it seemed pretty odd that they shipped a downloadable voucher, one that seemed like part of some Nvidia promotion and came with no instructions at all and has a backwards shipping system (£5 with 5-7 day delivery, or £0.67 with 1st class royal mail). Just seems odd, like they had a bunch of extra vouchers from the http://www.nvidia.com/object/mafia2-bundle.html promotion and decided to sell them on, which im sure is not allowed by Nvidia.

Also for those interested, Bioshock 2 going for £3.50 at Greenman Gaming

I had the same thing. I even called to see what they were playing at and it seems they had a bunch left over from Jan 2011!!!!

I did question why it was not sent over via e-mail and was told it was to do with the T&C's:duh:

Anyway activated on steam and all good...... Not bad for 67p
