I would give it a punt. I wasted so many hours on civ 1 back in the day on my Amiga. I absolutely love that game.

If you end up liking it - be warned, it will be a time vampire... :D

I could cry at having missed out on the codemasters pack...

Railroad Tycoon II has taken up my entire evening though - with CIV III for the weekend! :D

Sooo 12 gigs of download later I have to say MW2 is a tad underwhelming. Maybe its just because I've only started and am therefore lacking the uber weapons etc but its a very different feeling game to last two (both of which I'm loving atm). Very claustrophobic maps, some (tho not as many as I'd expected) lag issues...

On the plus side there seems to be a lot less kill streak spam than in CoD4.

All in all, 18% is nowhere NEAR a big enough discount to keep me playing beyond the weekend.

Agreed. Having come from BC2, MW2 is a fairly decent time-waster that requires no effort or acclimatisation to rock up scores in (literally, you can pitch up with the starter weapons and get a good score).
Wouldn't buy it, though, at least not for more than probably a tenner.

I loved Civ3. With a passion. But I just couldn't get into Civ4, anyone else suffer that problem? Anyone else think the animations are crappy as well?

+1. i grew up with civ2, and civ3 is essentially the same with slightly prettier gfx. civ4 was too much of a departure for my liking - its the kind of game that isnt about having shiny gfx, its about the substance of the game underneath. imho it lost some of that trying to be more mainstream with civ4

Yup - same here - I didn't buy the bundle purely because I'd never use Civ4 - give me CIV 1 any day!

Lets hope Civ5 can improve on where Civ3 left off.

Civ 4, I thought was great fun. Balanced a lot of issues and made resources important to the advancement of your nation and could be used so well tactically. Good fun, it's still Civ after all. Great theme tune music too. Although the ingame music to Civ 2 is still classic for me :)

I really enjoyed Civ 4 on the 360, so I bought the Steam Civ 4 pack last time it was on offer.

lol, I've played a few strategy games on the 360, and they've all been hard to control with a joypad and sub par, except for Civ4 Rev - I've even got my brother hooked on it (and he dislikes most strategy games on PC or console).
