Sounds about right, most games that have just been released are not included as they'll sell fine anyways.

Can't believe how **** the steam sales are now. At least I don't end up spending money.

    Metro LL for £16?

That was £8 a few weeks ago for at least a week on gamefly.

Huh, its showing as £8.49 for me?

I've bought a few games, mainly ones I think I'll play rather than just buying stuff because it's cheap like in the past. Best game I've bought this time around is Nether.

Of course I forgot that Gabe spends his time reading bit-tech forum and dropped the price as soon as I posted my vicious rant against steam.

    Thanks Gabe.

Loving the steam sale. Great bargain price for Metro LL.

I wonder if I should buy?

Well for steam sales you need to check steam, but other gaming sites with decent sales include gamersgate, gamefly, gog to name a couple.

For the sort of games they sell GOG's system is much better than Steam.
Self contained DRM free installers that you can download anywhere online via login. You can even get a refund if the game doesn't work on your system.

Steam is okay (centralised updates, mods and multiplayer is good for a lot of modern games), but I wouldn't let that blind you to other good options.
All things being equal I'd go for GOG every time.

http://isthereanydeal.com/ is a good site for checking to see if it is cheaper somewhere else, as is http://www.hotukdeals.com for finding deals. Most sites sell Steam keys but obviously check the DRM before purchasing if you prefer that.

dlcompare, kinguin, gmg. Kinguin is always worth checking, managed to grab simcity on there for £12 and bf4 premium for around £25. Think I also saw a Blood Dragon code for Uplay at about £1-£2. Not all of them do Steam codes, but they will tell you what they activate on.

Savygamer is a good compiler of bargains, bookmarked. Rock Paper Shotgun used to feature their content but stopped recently. Not sure why?

Borderlands 2 GOTY for £10 http://getgamesgo.com/product/borderlands-2-mac-goty yes it says mac, but it's a Steam Play title. Also see product description.

GMG I find doesnt have as fantastic bargains as it used to, still good though. I suspect when the christmas sales have vanished, gmg will probably return to being better than most.
