If you're actually getting a 24Mb connection, it should in theory be max 24/8 = 3 MB/s if the server can handle it.

Isn't it something like <1% of customers actually get the full amount of Mbits available to them? We pay for 8 and get 5 :(

Yeh where I live now we have a 20mb line, but max is 3-4mb, so download is around 600kbs. But im moving to my own flat in inner city Manchester on Thursday in a fibre optic enabled area with 50mb max so im guessing ill get full speed.

3mb a sec sounds awesome

    So, the new offers;

Nothing paticularly notable today either, quite tempted by the Oddworld Pack. Loved that game back on the PS1

    What's Op Flashpoint like?

Reasonable... Battlefield esc so might be worth it if you're into that sort of game. But why play a battlefield esc game when you can play battlefield.

Yep. My line used to synch at 22.8Mbps, we were only 1km from the exchange by wire.

Ordered Op Flashpoint and Abe's pack. For £3.30 you can't complain about OF: DR even if it isn't very good, it'll entertain for a couple of hours. :)

Operation Flashpoint is OK, I'm not a huge fan of mil-sims, but it's still enjoyable. The rest is a bit lot meh.

    <Bluebottle>You rotten swine, you!</Bluebottle>

After a full day downloading while I've been at work I still have 16 GB left to go. If I have it installed by the time I get a day off Wednesday I'll be amazed.

There's no LLU or CN21 in my exchange yet so the best I could get would be 8 Mbps and that would mean accepting a bandwidth cap and/or FUP as well. I envy those with faster connections but I'm not giving up my uncapped/no FUP contract for anyone - I simply reserve the right to grumble about it occasionally :p

Nothing really of interest for me today. Oh well, I have no doubt that there's more acute wallet cramp to come courtesy of Steam tomorrow!

Is it me or is the STEAM sale running out of ...well, steam?

Ah well... Whatever I save today I can blow on that mindnumbingly good deal tomorrow... :)

If EA week hadn't just happened i'd be hoping for ME2 for £10-15 (Just got ME at the weekend and am enjoying it a lot) but I guess that is unlikely.

Im sure as soon as todays steam sale items were listed Operation Flashpoint was 7 quid and Abes Pack was 5...

So they've further discounted the items they had on sale earlier . Dunno about everyone else but id be flippin pissed if i'd bought either of them then an hour later seen them further discounted.

Does make them both rather tempting now tho :D

I'll take Abes pack for £2.00, I remember playing Abes Oddworld as a kid, what a game. Time to rekindle some memories.
