On a completely unrelated note: Is anyone else experiencing frequent disconnects from the friends services, or is it just me? It's only the friend list as well, I can play online just fine. Everything bar Alien Swarm and L4D that is, at least if you want to play with your friends.

I bet it's got something to do with the horrible game matching mechanics in Alien Swarm. They really should've polished the game a bit more, include a decent Lobby instead of the way you jump right into the game at the moment and attached price tag along the lines of $10 to the game.

Edit: The games themselves are working just fine. But when I loose connection to the friends server I cannot invite them to a game or when they are trying to join a game I'm hosting they cannot.

 

Alien Swarm's working OK for me - maybe a lobby will come soon? With Valve you never get the finished article right away.

Lead & Gold having issues on start up, about 85% loaded then the game just closes, no error messages, so I'm struggling to find what is the matter with it

 

Mine is still locked

 

Could be the problem...the game is actually starting though, might just have to wait it out

 

I just restarted steam and it works fine now, Could seem like a bargain at 7.50 euro

edit: that's going to be one for the recycle bin, gets to the same point every time, then closes (very quickly too) still no error messages to give me so much as a hint why

It's an indie game ... and I ... dunno ... maybe I'm getting tight in my old-age, but even £7.49 seems steep ...

If the bargain price was £2.99 I'd definitely bought it. I shall wait it out for this one.

Oh and metascore gave it 63/100, userscore 7.4 which is quite respectable.

There's a sticky thread intended for newcomers claiming that it isn't 'as updated' (in other words FIXED if you ask me) as longer running games such as CS/HL series. Still no excuse to ignore a good chunk of players getting the same errors despite apparent fixes.

 

Had a bit of a go at it tonight. Thought it was good for a free play, can't see myself buying it.

 

I enjoyed it but for a couple of pound in the Christmas sale, not sure its really got the legs for a £8 game tbh.

 

Just spotted 50% off Just Cause 2 (and it's DLC)...
