First off, want to say hi, and thanks for reading :)

I have a perplexing problem that I have been working on for about 3 months now. I have a allbrite lcd panel, which is a supper bright (1200+ nits) 10.4 inch modded nec panel the panel number is NL8060BC26-17, and two different controllers that I am trying to get to work with the panel. The first is a DICON 1280EI and the other is a signet or Digital Display AG EPAP-200C. Here is a link to the archived allbrite page, here is a link to the signet (digital display) contoller and here is a link to the Dicon contoller specs.

Ok, First I got the screen and the signet controller sold together, the signet however is not the controller that is normally paired with the lcd. When I got it and turned it on it did not work with a vga connection. It did however work useing the RCA connection on the controller. After weeks of checking the pin outs on the cable and talking with the person who sold it to me I finally shipped it back to the seller for repair. The sell shipped it back "working" after along delay, but when i got it the panel was shattered (apperantly getting damaged in shipping). So I found a new allbrite panel, this one still had the factory seal on it, and when i got it, I hooked it up and got the same problem. So I became convinced that it was the contoller that was the problem and it was incompatible with the screen. A small number of members on another forum I frequent all used a the dicon 1280ei successfully with the allbrite so I bought one. I got it and hooked it up and got the same exact problem.

here are some videos of what it looks like the first one shows it working in RCA the second and third show it in VGA in the last one you can see the outline of the winXP start menu poping up and down.

Any ideas? I thank you al ahead of time for any insite you might have.

BTW, the panel is 800x600 native and that is what i am running to it @ 60 hertz. I have tried it with 3 different computers: My laptop with a ATI mobile radeon, my desktop with a ATI 9600 and my carputer with a onboard Nforce2

    Thanks again sorry so long.

not to interfere with your post or anything. How much did the lcd and controller cost separately?

It's hard to say the panels are getting pretty rare, you can probibly find one for $150, the controller, inverter and cables I got for 140

For that money one could buy a brand new 17" TFT monitor. But ofcourse that wouldn't be as much fun as building one yourself and gaining a lot of knowledge :)
Sorry i'll try get more ontopic after getting some sleep, very interesting stuff.
