i doubt that that is a graphic LCD. It looks like a TFT (similar to those on laptops).

It requires a controller card to run it (similar to a video card in a PC). Try looking where that ribbon cable is connected to, and if your lucky, there might be a controller card that is separate to the rest of the phone, but you are v lucky if that is the case.

If this is a TFT and you want to run this, you will need to:

    A - Buy a PCI controller card from http://www.earthlcd.com

B - Wire the black and white wire to a 5v line (I think that is probably for the LED at the top of the screen chassis) (OPTIONAL)

C - Power the invertor module. This gives the right current for the backlight of the LCD. This will require you to split the 5 cable connector with the white female connector, and hook it up to a 12v line.

PS - the black wire with the shiney thing on the end is your earth.

BTW - if this is a TFT and you buy a controller card, your better off buying a laptop screen for about $8-10 off ebay, then you will have a full colour TFT that you can hook up to your pc.

Im currentley working on this :S taking ages tho

best thing to do is find out who makes the screen, then type in the name of the company and the model number of the screen on google and you should get some results

Yep I'm with cruelinios, look up the product code on google and see if you can find a datasheet for the display.

I doubt it's a tft though, do you remember it being on at any point? I bet each pixel can only be on or off (no grey scale) - so earthlcd's controller won't help you. The graphic controller chip is probably custom though and you'll probably need to build your own interface.... but let's not panic, see if you can find a datasheet :D

    Cheers,

    r.

p.s. thanks for bringing it here, and sorry for being so slow - my inet connection sucks right now :(

These are the numbers on the back of the LCD

    CLS-4832TNBOLO22-0116

    PC-480x320-6137-C

    1070414A002

    GT207001
    Ring any bells?

dunno if the screen works cos i picked it up from a carboot sale for £6 so its not bad if only for the mini cathode

The best thing to do is describe the screen in full in an email and send it to al@earthlcd.com. He knows everything about lcd's......he is a nuttah
