Modding LCD to touch screen LCD

Hi just wondering if anyone has done a mod on making an LCD monitor may it be a 15inch or 17inch into a touch screen LCD monitor? would this be posible? any help would be appreciated

 

You would probaley be better of just better a moniter with it already installed... tbh

Cost just as much doing it yourself..

 

oh i already have a monitor was thinking of adding on a touch screen feature would you know of any i can get? i tried surfing for it what i found were all built in with the monitor already thanks

DeLorean5000: i checked it out they dont seem to have a 17" version i wonder if it would look really funny if i used the 18" one for my 17" monitor hmmmm mod it? hehehehe

yeah good luck... I wish I could help you on price but I don't know. I work for a distributor that sells that manufacturer's products but we don't carry the touch overlays so I'm clueless as far as price.

we have one of those touch LCD screens in our office... they are nice.

touch overlays? is that what those things are called? would you know if they actually sold them to comsumers? they seem geared to product manufacturers oem's only even the contact section had like bulk stuff only.
what do you guys sell the touch monitors? what are the price range of those? thanks again.

 

yeah, you're pretty dead on about who the customer's are for the touch overlays.. mainly OEM providers but there is a slight market for end users to convert existing screens.. at least there used to be, not sure how available they are for end users now.

To give you some perspective... a 17" TFT Touch LCD Screen like on that website would fetch $1,200 retail.... TFT 15" would run in the nieghborhood of $980 retail.

 

thanks for that well at least if they use to sell them to the regular consumer im hoping they still have some somewhere out there. as for the set lcd touch screeens well those are a bit too much for me right now
oh well cant have everything.
