Modding LCD/VFD with Linux

    Im builidng a file/general server box running on xbuntu linux. Is there any software out there that I can use via serial or usb on this box to link up to a small casefront 202 or 20x4 LCD/VFD screen?

    There are plenty of good lcd programmes but i've never used them personally. Try searching for "character lcd linux" if you've not already, lcd studio was at one point being ported but i don't know how that went.
