i have set my heart on a new gfx card but im confused in which one is best.

I have read the review on the Leadtek PX6800 GS Extreme. I found it very intresting.
what i want to no is what is the best card leadteks 6800gt tdh os the Leadtek PX6800 GS Extreme.

I no the gs is already overclocked and the gt isnt but which is the best as the price differance is £3-£5.
im going to finnish new rig this month with either one of those cards then add another next month so im going sli.

    **NEW RIG**
    gigabyte 3d aurora case
    hiper type r 580w
    amd64 3500
    a8n sli premium
    1 gig ddr
    gfx :( confused

Any help on this or points of view would be much apreciated thanx in advance.

ps 7800gt and gtx out of my reach and dont want mrs moaning about bills. :wallbash:

I would suggest the 6800GT over the GS, as I have a leadtek 6800GT now and it performs very well, and is able to go past ultra settings, there is also certain things you can do to you card such as flash its bios that can increase clock speeds even farther,
have seen cards in the 470/1200 range without any hard mods

I think what people are saying is that overclocking increaces fps and thus the smoothness of gameplay.
You'll also want to think about future games.
Also, yeah, confusing statement. maybe you don't need insane resolutions?

I'd go with the GS. Sounds like a good card.

hehe sorry about that.. didnt explain very well.Infact i didnt.
i dont care about hi res as i set my gfx to look like nintendo64 in quake4 so i can see enemys better. but a friend has a 9800pro and uses almost the same cfg settings. his fps is all over the place. I just hope the gt can run q4 1024 by 768 locked at 60 fps i will turn off aa af as its not needed im not playing for WOW look at that wall, lol

I could have 4 x 7800gtx it would still be set at n64 settings.

    cheers again in advance. :duh:

Depens if you will ever run dual monitors, never seen a gs in my life with dual DVI and that would be a staple for me. Id go with the gt myself

I do not agree with you.

    I think GT is better.

u know, GT is earlier release, and GS is later.

In now, piplines is very important for soft/ games/and others.

GT is hardly to buy, but it`s still better than GS.

GS is cheaper, it`s about 140dollors in China
