    He's right..lol

Looking good Wayne. I was thinking about feet for this on a number of occasions and thinking it looked rather top heavy. I like that design. I don't know if any one else thinks this, but with the design of the feet this build is starting to take on a very Chinese look and feel to it.

:D Cheers Mosquito, I've put a bit more time into them now after seeing the king of crazy modding say I think it's too crazy.:D

    Thanks travisridesbikes. :thumb:

:D It was only the other day you mentioned about team mods getting too crazy & looky here, just me & it's getting too crazy, :hehe: I take the tip serious cheaps, cheers dude.

    :D Cheers Raikkok. :)

    Cheers Angel :)

I almost went & bought some of the cone type mnpctech feet to adapt to something like this but figured the feet would be too high when added to some frame work unless I chopped the top section of them off so decided to just see what I could design to give full support & compliment the looks.

Very chinese? like a crazy awesome temple? :D I actually was thinking of making something based on 1 inbetween finishing stealthlow & coming up with this, a future project for sure. :D

    Cheers Jeff :)

Slight revision of the feet, when cheapskate says he thinks it's too crazy it really must be :D so I removed the rods, added a full length middle support & made it less wide & it all still interlocks nicely, so much so that it might not even need any bolts other than to fix to the base of the rig, this was 1 of the other neat things I was thinking of when deciding to buy the scroll saw, nicer ways of putting things together, not just nice detail panels. ;)

Now to carry on with the cutting, I think that back gamer panel might take a while. :D

Love the base feet thingy! uuummm, imho, I would do away with those long pointy feet to the right there at the bottom. I would re-design them. To me it just doesn't look right.

How heavy do you think your case is going to weigh? :eeek:

I know what you mean, it's a little awkward with the bottom base not being square so needs a bit more design, the intention is to make it less prone to potential tipping over even though I think it would be fine with the weight of the htpc & stand , the gaming rig should be nice & light I expect & how heavy overall? I have no idea :jawdrop::D but it is modular so can take the top rig off & carry separately which will lighten the load & make it easy to carry, I'll also cut out a lot from plain panels that I can to lighten it all up that bit more, that will be 1 of the final touches before getting it anodised or painted. :D:thumb:

I have a pile of games that have just kept piling up & not getting played as well as a nice GPU going out of date  so once I have these high detail panels done I’m going to start having a week dedicated to modding/gaming switching it up, this projects going to take a fair bit of time so it’s for the best that I don’t go burning myself out. :)

Progressing nicely with the back gamer panel though & might even have it done by the end of the day. :)

Started with a fresh 12 pack of blades to see if I could manage doing the back gamer panel with just those.

Problemo, but spotted before I mucked up beyond recovery, the bottom right cut outs in this shot don't line up with the next row, the row beyond that do though, I already done the starting drill points a while ago now but I think I can salvage it by tweaking the design just enough to let me get away with the mistake, I started trying to manually do it but it's a bit too technical to do anywhere near as good as I could if I tweak the design to fix it & then print & stick it over (still got no drawing aids), they are definitely a bit too much out of flow for my liking, wouldn't even be noticed on normal shots but on macro shots it sure would & I'd like to do a ton of photos of this once it's done so instead of completing this panel now I have to fix the design, print, stick, then continue. :D

Here is what I got cut today though so far. :)

:D No case started to form yet, just panels stacking up at the moment but even just the 3mm stuff after cutting into manageable sizes weighed a heck of a lot, I'd say a good bit heavier than stealthlow while loaded with hardware, that's just the 3mm stuff, :eeek: the bigger 10mm plates I had to pick up with both hands but they are now super light but super strong. :D

It is constantly dropping heaps of weight though :D I'll do an official weigh in once it's all together. ;)

Wish I weighed it all before starting now.

Half way through fixing the error in the design so I can still use the drilled start holes. :thumb:

Liking the design of the feet. This damn thing is going to be even taller now! And it's a good idea to have them long and sticky out to stop it toppling over.

:D Cheers AK71 I will put more time into the design of them though, this rig has turned from me only wanting to wow myself to wanting to wow everyone. :hehe:

:D Who knows  you know when you've been modding too much when I had a nightmare the other night that I was using the scroll saw & it just fell apart with parts of it all over the place from overusing it :jawdrop: & couldn't complete the project. :waah::lol:

Pretty clear sign I need a good break from it now I think, I rarely dream, hate my dreams they are far too realistic & packed with very intricate detail so nightmares are nasty as feck for me. :worried::lol: But suppose funny nightmare to have to anyone reading this eh. :D

    Continued. :D

Error in the back gamer panel pattern that I couldn't go ahead with, some of them were out of place by as much as 3.5mm, you have to look close at it to really see it. :eeek:

Fixed & added an extra cut out because there was room for 1. :D
    [IMG]

Off to print this fixed one & very carefully stick it over the faulty one, retained all the drill start holes in original place too, a spanner in the works nicely pulled out just in time. :D

Yeah lol, you'll probably need more than one person to lift it :)

The only problem I can see with those feet is that if the case is on the floor things might get caught on the feet. Or is it going on a desk, its hard to tell how big the whole thing will be.

I'm really with Cheaps re the first design. One point of concern to me is that you already have a lot of geometric shapes going on, which look good, but to me the feet just add an entirely unrelated set of more geometric shapes that don't really blend together with the overall case design. Just as an idea, have you thought about reusing an existing shape? Just a quick PS to give you an idea. This may not be the best one, but maybe you'll see what I mean.

My head hurts everytime I see you cutting out! That is a WHOLE alot of patience on the scroll saw. Great work though.

What grade of aluminium are you using? Do you even know? ex. I am using 6061 in SSR-X.
