Just so you know, you're not allowed to finish LAG this year. Mod of the Year has to be unpredictable, this would just be unfair to the competition... :p

Good to see you getting back at this one Wayne. There is way too much craftsmanship in this one to let it just collect dust. I'm surprised you haven't worn out that Excalibur yet. You certainly are getting your monies worth out of it.

I just bought a new Dewalt DW788 scroll saw and am hoping to be able to start doing a bit of modding again soon. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet.

Sorry about the ultra late reply. :D

I was rolling nuttier than a coconut for the past few years without stabilizers, specialists figured I needed them back on, I didn't argue so I'm born again for the 3rd time, yaaay, time to mod on. :dremel:

Hope the fan connector goes to plan. :D

Thanks Hukkel, yeah better separate. :)

    True.
The roller came from Poland. :)

Thanks Attila, amazing how much of a difference black muslin cloth background improves shots.

    :clap::D

Quite a bit now & that's without hardware, thanks abbas. :D

With ridiculous patience, and loads of coffee, thanks Ant & yeppy yep I'm back onto this now. :D

:D I'm still going to need to push myself to finish in time for that but considering what I've done the past few days, it's possible, don't hold me to it though. :D

Nearly went that way myself :eeek: I still can't believe I started this early 2012. :jawdrop::wallbash:

It's been sat there just gathering dust most of the time but I'm making definite progress now at last, seen videos on that scroll saw, looks a good one, I'm so out of touch with current projects, might find the time to have a look about soon, look forward to seeing what you do next mate. :)

    Update on next post. :dremel:

    It's grown up a bit, yaaaay. :D

No progress shots, been getting stuck into it with wanting this complete before 2015.

Designed & made a very tall (2.4m) shelving unit, blu-ray rack/cable stash unit, another shelf unit & hide away keyboard desk under a shelf for a massive expansion of places to put things in a smaller space.

More when I've got more to show. :)

:D Thanks Meelobee, did the chocolate bubbles or death stars with paint.

Looks interesting at night with low light & yeah it's a heavy one. :D

It's been a while eh, sadly I haven't been doing progress shots, just want this project completed ready for a fresh year come 2015. :)

    :D

    Thanks perplekks. :)

Been sorting the framework to get the gaming rig together, still a way to go but can pick it up by the lower rods like a trophy, load of filing & sanding & a little more framework to do now, had to do the curved pieces twice.

I'll do final assembly shots so it can be seen how it all goes together since I've skipped progress.

You know things aren't quite what they used to be when a LAG update doesn't get any comments.

It's getting there, looking forward to the future stages!

It has been getting kinda quiet in the community.
Your next rig has to be mostly rolled parts!:naughty:

People got better things to do. :D

Next rig has to have proper basics planning.
    And more rolled parts. :D

    Thanks mate. :)

Typing from the HTPC, bought a KVM switch to complete the setup so just waiting for the 3m hdmi cable to do multi display now.

I'm calling the HTPC complete which I put windows 8.1 tablet emulator on  & it's imperfect because I didn't give enough thought for cable work, ideally I should have used 20mm motherboard standoffs so the cables could pass through from under the motherboard & have the optical drive either at the top or bottom, not in the way of cables between the HDD's & PSU, that was quite a design mistake.

But I've learnt a lot since starting this one which will benefit any future projects so at least I have that (have to look on the bright side :D), the gaming rig is very imperfect also but it'll work, just won't look perfect but I suppose I should just accept that with not using precision machines to make it, precision is very hard without the right tools & using the wrong materials but a project wouldn't feel right if it was easy from my 2012 mind set, my 2014 mind set is keep things simple. :D

My heart isn't in this project anymore but I'll complete it anyway. :)

    ---
Update with no pictures or bump.
Starting to warm to the project again after making positive progress, should have an update soon.

Done extra framework using the optical drive as part of it, added the fans & side windows & fan controller window & added holes to the mobo tray.

Thanks Attila :) not sure if I'll get it anodised but if I do I'll just have the outer panels done & lacquodise or paint the internal bits, maybe polish the rods as well.

Popped the front window in place.

Anodize the outer panels black, polish the rods and use a light colour for the interiour. That would be awesome! Love the knobs for the controller! :)
