I'm just waiting for americans in lebanon to die to be honest. I know it sounds horrible, but untill then no-one cares about the civvies there, no-one puts any value on them, and no-one will realise how rediculous it is that israel are bombing family homes and wiping out generations of family members at a time based on shakey intelligence at best. That'd show bush what Irony is, americans dying by israeli hands with american guns.
It is, in a way. But deaths from a state sanctioned war has always been viewed different to an extremeist, minority view by a terrorist group. It's still sad non the less.
You hit it on the head, Spec. Until Americans die no one here will take any notice. You remeber a few years back when the Isrealis were bulldozing palestinian settlements? No one here cared, or even knew about it until an American was killed (Rachel somthng or other). Many Americans believe that nothing that happens outside our borders matters o that anyone but Americans matter so until Americans die, no one here will care. And then there's this...
Rachel Corrie. Very mediapathic, attractive intelligent blonde young woman. The anti-semites had a field-day on that one... Bolton is talking a load of crap. I'm sorry, but apart from demonstrating that he has the arrested moral development of a five-year old, his "defense" wouldn't hold up in a court of law. Suppose someone in the neighbourhood kills a few members of my family. I know roughly the street in which he and his mates live, so I torch all the houses in that street to make sure I get him back and stop further attacks. Sure, the poor innocent families whose homes I torch along with the bad guys' get killed also, but that is not the same as deliberately wanting to kill them, right? I mean, it's not evil like that guy who deliberately killed members of my family... No way would a court convict me for their deaths. After all, I have a right to defend myself and my family. It's a totally different thing... Official government sanction, like any form of might, does not make right. As I have said many, many times before, the price of being the good guys is that you have to be the good guys, and do not have the same options as the bad guys.
