Well, I will say that I had the same idea a few years ago. Actually, it was right before Mashie put the Velleman kit in his comp. He had a bit more luck than I did in securing some kits. However, i was able to convince Velleman to send me the schematics for the kit in an attempt to create one of my own. Don't know if it'll help you much, but here are the schematics I got from them. Power Supply Filter Section 1 Filter Section 2 Multiplexer A/D Converter Display Parts List You might be able to put the filters to use at least. Have fun!!
Hey, is there ant chance you got the PCB layout as well? I am Really (!!!) interested in making one of those velleman analyzers myself, but I dont know PCB making software well enough to design the board myself. That and it would be hell to do in Point to Point wiring.
The thing is that their schematic is basically worthless since one of the key ICs isn't made anymore. I had been hoping to redesign the circuit to use a 3914 or such to get a similar result. Basically I was planning to put a bandpass filter before each 3914 to achieve a similar result. Alas, things didn't wind up working out and I sorta lost interest on the project some time ago. I'll look and see if I still have any of the old schematics I designed, but don't hold your breath.
