Electronics Led question

    Ok so i used a the cheap 5mm led from lsdiodes.com and its soo bright when the thing blinds me when im driving ok so its mounted on the dash facing the driver so i dont forget to turn the fog lights off but its too bright

    umm... i dont really see a question in what you just said. you want to make the LED darker? if you could figure out how to wire it so it doesnt burn out when you turn it on then you should be able to figure how to make it darker. hint: voltage/current = ?

    Can't you just use a resistor to make it darker?
    (I'm no guru)

    probly the resistor or mabe you can difuse it a bit with glue gun glue that is sanded or "frosted"

    hmm sand it i might do that then put some black model paint over it to tint it a little

    have you put the correct size risistor on it before fitting in the car?
    Use a blob of glue to hold is 3mm behind mounting hole.

    A resistor would always be better, it would prolong the life of the led.

    Well, you could rig up a 555 oscillator running at about 400Hz, 30% duty cycle, more street cred than just sticking a resistor in the circuit. :sigh:

    Add a light sensor to lower the brightness when it's dark and you really start cooking... :idea:
